how exciting! you're dreams are taking flight!
The only thing I'm jealous of is your ability to speak/write/read both Dutch and English! I have always wanted to learn another language.
I wasn't jealous at all, I was thrilled for you. We have to really enjoy those times in our lives when all the doors are opening and things are on a roll. There will be enough difficult times to balance them out... So enjoy it to the fullest.
So sorry to hear that your back is bad. Are there some other shoes you could wear that would make the day go easier on your feet? A good foot bath with Epsom salts might help, as well as giving you extra magnesium, which can be absorbed through the skin. If your back problem is arthritis (sorry, I forget) an entire bath would be the way to go. Epsom salts have helped arthritis sufferers too. In any event, you get the benefits of a calming soak, so there's nothing to lose at all. (Okay, Judg, listen to yourself. Why aren't YOU doing this?)

Wonderful things happening for you Candy! And so awesome to be able to share and help others!! There is such a thrill in that! I second the epsom salts bath, and add a couple of drops of some good essential oils too. Maybe some lavender for relaxation ... if we had a bath I could lie down in I would do this too, just because it is so nice. I can barely sit with my legs extended in our tub! Keep us up to date with what is going on - I love hearing how things are going for you!

I will indeed take a bath with epsom salts! It's not arthritis, it's stupidity, I strained the muscles in my back doing too many sit ups. I was also very bloated today, after eating brussels sprouts
. I was able to see my chiro and she says the bloating was also pushing on the strained muscles.
Judg, I'm barefoot most of the time, as I'm currently working from home. But not being able to sit down I have to work standing up on my feet. And as my job is entirely on the pc, I have to stand still...Oh well, another half day of working and then I can walk around some more. I'm going to take time to rest a bit too the next few days.
Thanks for your kind words, girls.

The best thing about strained muscles is that they quickly heal and then you feel wonderful again!![]()

Yes, strained muscles do tend to improve more than arthritis, that's for sure. I'm sorry, I had forgotten about your sit-ups incident.

Strained muscles respond quite well to arnica gel too, and heat and mobility exercises done very carefully to get them moving again. I don't recommend ice even though it is recommended far and wide. Read up on 'mobility Workout of the day' website - some excellent information that might help you out a bit. I can sympathise with being on your feet 'too' much - I have had to convert my computer station to a seated one again while my heel healsBut I am looking forward to getting back on my feet more. I would really like to get one of those pads to stand on so my feet don't ache so much... I hope you feel much better soon, and keep going with the epsom salts baths!

Excellent! I went back to school a few years ago to become a teacher too (high school, not kindergarten - you are brave!) It consumed EVERY moment of my life, but it was a great experience.
Enjoy them, you deserve them!!

Things had to get worse before they could get better, apparently. Last Wednesday I wasn't able to stand on my feet anymore, even lying down in bed was so painful I cried. I had to go back to the doctor to get anti-inflammatory meds. My chiropractor asked me to avoid sports for a while, no CrossFitting for me for some time
. It's slowly getting better again now.
It was my birthday on Saturday, so I baked a lot of primal goodies to share with my CrossFit friends (DH and the kids did go to their training, so I joined and had a chat with some people) and family. I made a great carrot-pineapple cake and a fabulous hazelnut-chocolate-mousse cake. The hazelnut-choc-mousse cake has already been ordered too, I'm making one by the end of the month. I received money from my mom, sister and brother for my birthday, I had made a wish list with very nice clothes. I didn't know what to choose (the dress and shoes? Or the skirt, top and shapewear?) so asked my DH to help me choose....didn't have to choose after all, as he said I could order all of my wishlist. A sexy red dress, pencil skirt, top, shapewear and shoes!!!
Oh, I had a haircut, my hair is short now! I'll make pictures soon, when my newly ordered clothes arrive.
