YAY, my first godchild is born tonight! My brother and SIL gave birth to a baby boy named Dario Matteo on August 21st at 11:30 pm CET. I'm so happy! Didn't have the chance to see him yet, as I'm working this morning. I'm also very busy writing the name tag for the birth gifts by hand, because the damn printer won't take the paper *sigh*. Good thing I love to write . After lunch I'll finish the birth gifts (or at least part of them) and then I'll go to the hospital to visit my newborn nephew and the proud parents. I'll post a picture of the birth gifts when they're done!
Also I'm definitely off dairy . After having a piece of cake with buttercream the other night I felt gassy all day yesterday. Luckily my tummy is finally feeling better today!
Back to work now, see you all later!

Hi Candy, that does look like a wonderful cake, all right.

Sorry to hear that dairy has been bothering you so much. But you're right, it's just not worth it.

I haven't been eating dairy and have been gassy (not smelly gassy, just gassy) and I'm having a tough time pinpointing what the problem is. I know that feeding the flora of my gut sugar is supposed to cause it to produce more gas than usual, but I noticed the problem before I binged on sugar this week, so I don't think sugar is the only trigger for me.

ANYHOW... congratulations on the new nephew/god child. How exciting!

Congratulations Candy! Be sure and share some pictures of the little one as well as the gifts you've been busy with! Love the picture of your cake.... I am sure it won't be long and there will be more customers than you can keep up with! What auto- immune protocol are you looking at doing? I am thinking of doing the same thing .... I have been avoiding going off dairy as I love it so much ... but my feet are encouraging me to give it a try. And I think that when I start reintroducing dairy that I will try it initially on raw dairy only and then try a few bits of the pasteurised stuff and see if there is a difference in my reactions.... I have never noticed any obvious reactions to dairy or nightshades or nuts - but I eat them all the time (not so much nightshades) and may not be noticing because it seems 'normal' to me. Let us know how things go for you!

Coll, I'm going to do the Whole30 autoimmune protocol (don't know if it's on the website, I have their book It Starts with Food and it's described in there).

Before and afters are such fun, aren't they? And I totally agree about the smell of newborns.
