    Hi Mike - are you not eating bananas for health reasons? I eat a banana after I work out most times (once or twice/week), always look forward to that . There a rich source of potassium!

    Yesterday I thought I'd bake something for the kids when they come home from school, I had some over-ripe bananas. I made the banana chocolate chip bread from "Eat like a dinosaur", using sunflower butter instead of almond butter. They had a bit of a funny color when they came out of the oven:

    so I covered them with some chocolate ganache:


    but when DS2 and DS3 saw this inside:


    the refused to eat them! I think it's actually really funny! So here I am having banana choc chip sunbutter muffins for breakfast this morning . Hey, someone has to eat them! I think next time I'll mix in some cocoa instead of the choc chips, that will cover up the green color! Or use almond butter instead of sunbutter.

    I just decided to do a Whole30 as of July 2nd. Not 1st, because we have a big BBQ in our street - there will be alcohol and (primal) desserts involved .
    I think I'll have a glass of wine tonight . I already had chocolate, it was in the green muffins .
    Actually I only have to cut out wine, dairy and sweeteners (I only use honey, maple syrup and coconut palm sugar anyway), I never cheat on grains or legumes anyway! But the sweeteners are sneaking in my diet too regularly again, time to stop that again! And I really hope to loose those last 5 kg (after 6 months of maintaining my current weight, which I think is good too!).

    Made an appointment for Thursday afternoon to discuss my first tattoo with the artist, yay! I'm excited and a bit nervous. It's just a first talk, I'll have to wait until October or later for the actual tattoo (this guy is busy! but he's supposed to be really good).

    Ecks inspired me to put strawberries in my salad, so I had this for lunch today: Salad with beetroot and strawberries


    A picture I saw on facebook inspired me to make dessert tonight. In the end I didn't make what I had in mind as I was missing some ingredients, but I did make a very nice (dairy free!) coconut panna cotta with raspberry coulis:


    I'm so excited, tomorrow afternoon I'm going to see the tattoo artist! Feel like a kid on Christmas eve .

    You're brave! I've toyed with the idea of getting a tatoo for years! I think my hubby wants me to get a cute little something on my ankle.......... but I'm not sure if the pain is worth it! Maybe when I lose ALL my weight I will get one for him....

    my motivation

    As per Marcadav:
    Do 30-60 days clean primal.
    No grains, sugar, alcohol.
    Eat 3 meals and primal snacks.
    Don't track food.
    Don't tweak.
    Don't expect issues to go away quickly. Instead, just follow the plan and see how things play out.
    Decide on an exercise plan you can/will do consistently during the 30-60 days and then do it.

    Well, I promised myself a tattoo if I lost a lot of weight, I think more than 25 kgs counts as "a lot of weight" . And I want one on my ankle too (a poppy), but I think I'll have one on my belly first, as that area is less painful (and in my case the area around my belly button is numb).

    OK, I talked to the tattoo artist and then decided to go for the poppy on my ankle. I have an appointment on October 20th .
    Today is DS2 and DS3's last school day. I just managed to finish the little gifts for their teachers just in time! You can see a picture here: Bye bye school year! | Candy in Wonderland.
    Another busy day today: I'm going to CrossFit in an hour; then rush back home, get changed and go to school to pick up the kiddo's and have a last chat with the teachers. Home for lunch, then to DS2's new school (as of September).
    DS1's earnings for past work weekends has arrived, so we'll go looking for his new phone (he wants a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play). Really hope he still finds it, or else he'll have to wait until he gets back from Sicily.
    Back home I have to pack for the 3 kids, as tomorrow they fly to Sicily, for a 2 week holiday with my parents.
