Hope so too, I have to work this morning, so will start at lunch time. But I'm sure it'll go fine. It's not even the most ambitious I've ever been . Making a Spanish tapas menu for 25 people, that was ambitious!

Lol you girls! I would love to meet (and cook for) you all!

So the dinner went great! DH's boss and colleague were very nice company, boss was very interested in paleo/primal, his wife is on a special (grainfree) diet because of leaky gut. It was nice to be able to talk about this WOL without being judged or people being skeptical (family dinner with the in-law's yesterday, all very into low-fat *sigh*).
You want pictures? I have pictures:
antipasti (deviled eggs, guacamole with bell peppers and nacho's for the kiddo's, olives, anchovy - not on the picture: dates filled with smoked almonds and wrapped in bacon, mini-sausages wrapped in bacon)

Lasagne (no picture of the primal version, with eggplant and topped with greek yoghurt and parmesan):

No picture of the main dish: saltimbocca alla Romana (veal with italian ham and sage with a Marsala sauce) and roasted sweet potatoes with cherry tomatoes and onions, roasted red beets, green beans wrapped with bacon.

Desserts: chocolate mousse (sweetened with maple syrup)

crème brûlée (dairy free, with coconut cream and coconut palm sugar - picture without the burnt sugar topping)

and fruit salad with mint leaves:

DS1 has a summer job! He's working on events as a waiter. He loves it, and I'm happy for him that he can do this. Downside is that he's working really late and I have to go pick him up when he's finished working. That means me staying up late or going to bed an getting up at like 4 am - luckily I can go back to bed afterwards! But doesn't he look gorgeous in his outfit!

This week is my last working week, as of Wednesday noon my holiday starts! DS2 and DS3 still have school until Friday at noon, after that it's the summer holiday for them. My 3 sons are going to stay with my parents in Sicily for 2 weeks, without DH and me! It'll be the first time DS2 and DS3 are traveling without me, but I'm sure it'll go fine. DS1 is with them (although he's not old enough to accompany them officially, and DS2 and DS3 are considered "Unaccompanied Minors" and will be closely watched by the flight attendants. My parents are already there and will pick them up at the airport. Then after 2 weeks they travel home together with my kiddo's. In the meantime I will have holidays with DH, just here at home. We don't have any real plans, just want to relax and enjoy each other's company. DH is going abroad this week from Wednesday morning till Friday evening, and I know he's counting the days until his holidays.

OK, back to work (and catch up with the journals).

Yes, he looks gorgeous. My first job was waiting on banquets too.

Ah, a kidless vacation! Sheer bliss. And then when the kids come back, you'll realize how much you missed them.

Its important for a marriage to have time without the younglings. I'm sure you're time alone with hubby will be sweet. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for my son to move out! He's 26! Looking to buy a condo, and rent out rooms. Then hubby and I will be alone for the first time EVER! Second marriage, and blended family does have its pitfalls. But, it will be soon! He's going to be getting pre-qualified for a loan in the next couple weeks. And he wants to be moved out by the end of summer. YEAH!

Great news for you, Tomi! DH and me never had a lot of time alone either - I already had DS1, and before we knew it we were expecting DS2 . But we try to get away without the kids at least once a year. Luckily the kids love to stay with my parents! And they're looking forward to going to the beach every day, my parents have a house really close to the beach (2 minutes walk).

I'm going to have a tattoo! I've been thinking of it for years now. It's kind of a reward for loosing close to 30 kg's the past year. I'm going to have one close to my belly button, now that I can show it in a bikini (although I'll be able to show it only next summer, the tattoo artist is really busy and it'll probably be October before it's my turn). I also want a poppy on my ankle, but let's first see how it goes . I'll be going to talk about it on Thursday, hope to get the appointment for October! Would be a nice birthday present.

I have 5 tattoos. I love getting tattoos and can't wait til I get my next. I want my kids hands (fingerpaint style) on my ankle with their names wrapped around like an anklet. But that'll be a pricy one b/c they're also going to be covering one I have already gotten that I have decided I don't like. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. has no meaning so I'd like to cover it.

That dinner looks delicious! Wish I could have attended!! And congrats to DS1 on landing a great job! My first job was waiting table too and what i wouldn't give to still be doing it! Money isn't good enough in tips where I live though.
