Hmmm, I've always learned that rice works the other way around (so it's a great food to eat when you have diarrhea, especially in combination with carrots - or is that just CW BS?), but I'm willing to give it a try.

And don't forget the old standby of prunes.

Hmmm, do you know if fresh plums have the same effect?

Sounds like you're off to a good start! And already thinking like a homeschooler with your museum visit.

I don't know if fresh plums will act the same way. My guess would be 'no', since prunes are made from a specific type of plum- something about the pit not decaying when dried in situ.
But, they do whir up in smoothies so that they aren't very noticeable, if that would help. And of course, you can stuff them with sausage, and/or roll them in bacon. (I find when I am stuffed with sausage and rolled in bacon, it is always a good day.)

It seems like any cooked fruit might help the situation. Raw might not work so well.

Don't know about CW's take on congee. It's a common Asian recipe. I like it with kimchee on top. Some people eat it less watery. Depends on your mood. Super easy to digest. I would think well cooked carrots would work too. Guess you'll have to try it and see sometime. I don't have issues with rice or wheat unless they are whole. Once they're processed -- white basmati rice or naan bread, I am fine. Brown rice and whole wheat bread don't make so happy, but no pain or anything. Just notice my burps!!:-)

Vegetable soup might help too. Even with meat if you cooked it really well. I guess it's the soup idea I'm going for here. Lots of nice hot liquid.

I'm trying to cut back on coffee and replace with herb teas. I'm just keeping my morning and lunch cup of coffee and try to drink more water too.
