    Haha! Ditto. I'll bet you make those indulgences taste worth it, though, Candy! The lesson I had to relearn from Easter was, if I do indulge, it should be a damn good, creamy indulgence (protein and good fat in it helps even out the sugar intake too). It shouldn't just be eating some crappy sweet everybody else is eating all day - like M&M's. I did that and it did not taste or feel worth it!

    I didn't eat the cake in the picture, because it's made with flour. I can't get myself to "cheating" with grains . I did have a piece of cheesecake (without the cookie crust), a small piece of frangipane (almond cake) and a small piece of the orange-almond cake => this one just calls out loud for a chocolate ganache! But I'm not making it, because then it would be really hard to keep away from it .

    I shared a BAS with tuna with my DH, but I'm feeling all bloated and gassy now. TIM WARNING: I've had quite a bad problem with gas for years and years and never found out why. I thought it was lactose, so I stopped eating dairy for a while, but it didn't get better. But after going grain- and sugarfree the gas just disappeared! And now I have indulged in all that sugary stuff I'm back to being really gassy. So I think it must have been the sugar all those years! I'm actually looking forward to the CF Summer Challenge (kind of a 'Whole30' including crossfit WOD's), it'll be just the little push I need to go back to primal basics. And I really hope I can loose a few kilo's (5 would be great, less would be OK too, just less "blubber" and more muscle is very OK too ).

    Same here with the gas. My mom's nickname for me as a little kid was Ms. Toodle-oodles . The only primal/paleo trigger for gas I've found is onions. I can have some, but I can eat a bunch of them.

    Chocolate and orange is also a deadly combo for me - ah, I love them together so much!

    no-poo hair update

    Yesterday morning I washed my hair with a mixture of white (kaolin) and green (Montmorillonite) clay and rinsed it with vinegar (white balsamic, it's what I had ). My hair felt like straw and still looked "greasy" . Hooray for ponytails . Yesterday evening I put a little jojoba oil in the lengths of my hair, hoping it would feel a little more silky. I left it oily all day, but put it up with pins, so nobody really noticed .
    I have washed with only water tonight and rinsed with ACV (bought it yesterday afternoon) and after that I rinsed it again with cooler water (not really cold). It still doesn't feel soft, but it is starting to feel better. I'm curious to see it later tonight when it's dry.

    Candy...I noticed after eliminating the wheat & other grains from my diet that my gas problem went away too. I do still eat a tiny bit of sugar, so practically eliminating that from the diet too probably helped too. I'm still amazed at what those damn grains did to us for all those years!! We just didn't know.

    You're brave to go poo-less. Not me! My hair is way to oily for me to do that & I can't stand the smell of vinegar in my hair...& yes I can still smell it!! lol I even tried using our homemade soap one time to wash it...yuk.

    I do rinse with water after I rinse with vinegar and the smell goes away with it. I also use (alcohol) vinegar in our washing machine, instead of fabric softener, and really you cannot smell it on the clothes either. If you wash your hair with homemade soap you would have to rinse it with vinegar (or lemon juice) too, because the soap kind of sticks to your hair.

    I'll have to invest in a brush for my hair. I always just used a comb, but now I feel the need to brush it .

    Another gassy-ass here reporting in:-) A lifelong problem until I quit grains and sugar! Now it only happens with certain veggies and only if I eat LOTS at a single sitting..All of my life I was told it was the meat rotting in stomach causing gas **Rigghhtt**..

    That cake was da bomb babe

    Your self-control is amazing. I made a deliberate choice years ago to not learn to do any fancy baking, because I just can't resist home-made baked goods. Although I am getting better at that.

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
    Hmmm, self control? Watch my eats today :

    B: coffee with whipped cream
    S: 4 tbsp of whipped cream , piece of dark chocolate, piece of orange-almond cake (with layer of chocolate ganache, a match made in heaven as I thought it would be )
    L: omelet with bacon and side salad
    S: visit from my in-laws who couldn't make it yesterday; coffee, a piece of cheesecake (no crust) and a piece of orange-almond cake *sigh* what self-control? I do think it's because I know I'll start eating "clean" again on Wednesday, but I think I might have exaggerated just a little bit?
    D: ossobuco (veal shank), chicory smothered in ghee and roasted sweet potatoes and parsnips

    Tomorrow I'll be at an amusement park in the Netherlands (Efteling) the whole day, with 9 kids (aged 9 years + DS1 who is 16): lots of slow moving! DH and DS2 are staying home alone. I'll make sure to pack only healthy stuff for myself. I know I won't be tempted to eat anything I can buy over there, as "food" that comes out of a wall can hardly be named that (don't ask, Dutch fastfood ). I asked DH to make sure NO CAKE is left over by the time I get home, either they eat it or throw it away. I want a "clean house" when I start my CF Summer challenge on Wednesday.

    Oh, can you please join me in hoping for dry weather for tomorrow? Weather forecast for tomorrow in the Netherlands is rain, rain, rain .
