Congratulations on your successes! Sounds like you handled that family get-together perfectly. Brought good food, prepared for objections, gracious in your judgments of others, perfect score! Plus you got to feel great the next day, both physically and emotionally. How perfect is that?

Let the real weight loss begin! 196 lbs this morning! The weight I gained from consuming dairy and all sorts of sugar two weeks ago is finally gone!! WHOO HOO!!!

I learned a very valuable lesson this weekend. I thought I was taking fish oil for mental health, but it appears my body has chosen to use it for inflammation b/c if I DON'T take it, my foot and ankle get so stiff that it's difficult to walk for a short bit. And the other night I noticed some sciatic pain when I'd eaten no foods to trigger it. Must be the fish oil.

Still reading "It Starts with Food". I would highly recommend this book to anyone who can read and cares about their health. I'm learning so much about how our body works and how food interacts with or interferes with the processes.

I'm gearing up to go to the gym again. I'm interested in doing more than just walking now. I want to start LHT again and running again. The problem with running is that I don't have any minimalist shoes yet and no money with which to purchase them. So I think running will be delayed a bit longer until I can gather up some funds to buy a pair of five fingers or something.

This weekend we lost another race car driver. I guess he was at a party and got struck by a vehicle driven by his best friend. Don't know details of how or why, just know that he's gone. DH used to race against him too back in 2006 and 2007. He was pretty serious competition as those were two of our best years in racing (2010 was another great year). So, I told DH that if bad things happen in 3s, I'm sticking him in a bubble and not allowing him to leave the house.

He went racing last night. Tore up the car. Expected considering where he went. I guess some guy came sailing up into him from the bottom side of the track and just waylaid the car. Tore up the rear end, the front breaks, and did something to the transmission because it won't go into gear. Fan-f*cking-tastic. I'm sure that'll be expensive. I asked DH where he plans to pull the money from this time to fix the car b/c we can't do it. He said he'll just rob a bank... no, in all seriousness, he said "I guess it'll have to sit for a while". This year has been VERY tough on the car. 1 blown motor, 1 broken motor (that could have blown, but didn't), torn up tail, and the $600 ball joint fiasco (ball joint broke, which caused two shocks, 2 A-arms and 2 tie rods to break). No, likely what'll happen is that they'll go over to Bud's (the parts guy) and get more parts, put them on the account and fix the car, only to spend the whole winter paying off the Bud's bill. From a financial standpoint, I am soooo tired of racing. I just learned yesterday that the team bought some scales from a guy for $600 that they haven't paid for yet! Why the hell does everything these guys do cost $600??? Frustrating and annoying as hell.

AAAAnyhow... 196 today. Pretty stoked about that!

I want to apologize for being so scarce lately. I've been trying to keep up with homework and the guy I used to work with moved on to his next assignment and the new guy hasn't started yet, so I'm just kind of here trying to get things done for school while also keeping the office afloat... gone are the days where I spend all day on MDA reading journals, me thinks...

I have two papers due for one class - one is an article review, the other is a video review.

Then for the other class, I have a 5-8 min presentation I have to give (complete with powerpoint) on how I would use social media marketing to market the Paleo lifestyle to those who don't know or aren't willing to try it. (Yep, Paleo is my "business"), as well as write a 6 page paper on the same subject.

I'm a bit swamped right now. But it'll all end soon.

You're doing so well with all the balls you have to juggle, Jenn. You don't have to apologize for anything.

OMG, that video was horrid. I don't even want to share it with the group b/c it was so offensive. It was created by a church association that is against gay marriage. I had to analyze the video, decide whether or not the message they conveyed was effective, and then decide if it was in or out of bounds ethically from a leadership standpoint. I voted out of bounds and ineffective. It angered me and offended me. And since I have a few gay friends, I will not share the video as I don't want to spread their terrible message. It ranks high enough to require brain bleach. But there's a HILARIOUS parody that's been made of it. lol I was laughing at that.

ANYHOW... back at it. Gotta write my paper on either Libertarianism or Paternalism... probably go the route of paternalism b/c just about everyone in this country needs a dad to keep them from killing themselves out of sheer stupidity. lol

Now, all that's left of this semester is to write out the paper that is supposed to go with the presentation. 6 pages. Oh, and to actually present on Wednesday. Paper isn't due til Friday so I am actually ahead of the game for once! I think this calls for a fruity snack!!
