    OK! LHT day 1 is done. Here is what I did.

    Smith Machine Overhead Press (SMOHP)
    5x 75lbs
    5x 65lbs
    10x 55lbs

    Incline push ups (using bar at knee height)
    3x 10 reps

    Smith Machine Bench Press (SMBP)
    5x 65lbs
    5x 75lbs
    5x 80lbs

    Body Rows (using bar at hip height)
    3x 5 reps

    Also ran to and from the gym for a distance of 0.9 miles.

    Fitocracy points earned: 512.

    Well, I was advised by both a trainer and my fitness idol to never again use the smith machine, so... next time it'll straight up be just a barbell and weights and me moving them around, without ball bearings to assist. Trainer says it'll strengthen my core to do it without the assist.

    I see President Obama signed the Monsanto Protection Act into law yesterday. I'm saddened by this. Now Monsanto can do whatever it wants to the US food supply with no repercussions for the illnesses it causes. Sad sad day. I'm more determined than ever to buy a grass fed cow and raise my own produce now.

    Had computer lab time last night for class. Completed 3 pages. I think I am now officially done with my literature review (the research portion) and now I just have to write the discussion, which is basically a rehash of the research. It's the "so what" portion of the paper - how do you apply this information. Then the conclusion. Looking at another 12-14 pages before I'm finished. Oy vey... I'm so ready to be done.

    Going to see about taking tomorrow off so I can spend the day in the library again. Get it knocked out - or as close as possible. I REALLY want to be done with it by the 10th b/c I also have a presentation to prepare on the paper to present in front of the class on the last day. I should probably start looking at that too.

    The furlough has been (unofficially) reduced from 22 days to 14 days. Which means I have enough money in savings to cover us, plus a couple hundred dollars cushion. So that house payment that gets skipped will go toward the credit card. That'll make up for the stupid student loans that are hampering my debt snowball efforts.

    Today is a squat day. Yoovie says she counters her squats with curls. Sent her a message to see how she does them. Wanna do this right. I should go look at her blog and see what she did today...

    My new gym program is going to look like this:

    Monday:
    Run to gym
    Deadlift workout
    Run back to office

    Tuesday:
    Run to gym
    Overhead press workout
    Run back to office

    Wednesday:
    Run a couple miles

    Thursday:
    Run to gym
    Squat day
    Run back to office

    Friday:
    Run to gym
    Bench press
    Run back to office

    Saturday:
    Run a couple miles

    I'm excited! Going to start reading the New Rules of Lifting for Women (or something like that) tonight. I have it at home so might as well read it.

    Taking leave tomorrow. I want to get further on the paper.
