Glad the 21 day sugar detox is going well.

Did Dad and Step Mom ever successfully have a child?

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice to put that money on some bills or your emergency fund. I had to hold my husband back on something he wanted recently and he got a little cranky with me but quickly got over it.

No. They gave up after the 3rd premature birth (1 was a true miscarriage, 3 were premature deliveries). Stepmom had her cervix sewn shut, was placed on strict bedrest - all that stuff. Nothing worked. I offered to be a surrogate while I was in college but they declined my offer. They said it was because I was a smoker, but I would have quit for something that special. They talked about adoption, but I think in the end they were too proud to admit defeat. About 6 or 7 years ago, Dad finally had a vasectomy, putting an end to it all.

    Their names were

Lucas - 5 months gestation. Lived 21 minutes.
(unnamed) - too early to determine gender
    Andrea - 4 months gestation.
Shelby (boy) - 3 months gestation.

I don't know how long Andrea and Shelby lived b/c they never told us. I think it was just too hard for them to talk about. Given their gestation, I don't think they ever took a breath.

So, that's sad... let's talk about something else.

Glad you are feeling more positively in general. I hope that continues, especially with a little less stress in terms of class schedule. Hulky has spring break next week (and class was cancelled yesterday due to snow, though there wasn't much at the time) so his schedule will at least be a little more lax for the next week and a half, which gives him plenty of time to prepare for his midterm sometime around 2 weeks from now.

I hope you and Brad can have a productive chat about the boat. Perhaps there is some money that HE can sock away for a "fun" thing, but the rest can go towards some debts and/or furlough savings?

He asked me what applying it all to the debt reduction would do for us. It would pay off that credit card the last week of August instead of the last week of September. Then he came back and said he could use it to pimp his truck. *eyeroll*

I did think about letting him have a bit of it to do something fun with his truck. but haven't decided what I think would be ok to do yet.

I think giving him a "share" would be fair. Even if you give him half, it would still make a difference.

    Pimp his truck. lol

My husband wanted to go into NYC three times to see the John Stewart Show in the month of April. That would be a minimum of $200 each time...and we can't even pay all of our bills. It even seems more ridiculous when I put it in writing.

    This made me chuckle.

He's been wanting to "enhance" the exhaust on his truck since he got it a year ago (holy crap! we've had that truck a full year now!!). But I don't think a 2" lift and fancy tires is necessary. Loud exhaust would be cool, though. #redneckchickslikeloudpipes

speaking as a gate guard, don't be that guy.

I wish painful herpes outbreaks on all persons with loud vehicles.

Yeah, my hearing is declining due to loud vehicles. Motorcycles mostly, but some trucks.

Well, Jon, luckily for both of us, you're not my gate guard. And secondly, I rarely ever drive Brad's truck to work. I drive 35 miles one way and the cost of diesel is expensive. I typically only drive my Fusion to work.
