Yeah, I've heard of it. Dave Ramsey preaches it. By all rights, I should be putting $1,000 aside for Murphy's Law, but I haven't yet b/c I've been so anxious to get things paid off. I might take a look at it today and see how I can rearrange without getting behind on other things.

Lookit what Brad got me for my birthday!!

Oh lovely! They say the best low-paying job to have is flower delivery. Everybody lights up when they see you at the door...

Those roses are gorgeous. I don't think Boyfriend has ever given me any, but I've let him know that it would be appreciated. I nearly cried when my boss and co-workers gave me flowers for my 21st birthday in college. I had mentioned just that morning that I've never gotten flowers from anyone outside of family .

If you don't mind, I'm saving that photo for tattoo reference. It'll be a long time before they get worked in anywhere, but I know what I want roses as part of a tattoo. Those are at the perfect point of bloom.

Where does one get blank Holiday cards? I couldn't find any at Walgreens.

I usually buy Mrs. FW flowers every 2-3 weeks. Why wait for some special occasion? Makes her feel good, and it's nice having them around - promotes positivity in a negative world. Not bragging or anything, I just think it's a good thing to do.

Funny thing: he got those at a grocery store. we've always had tremendous luck with their roses. They're inexpensive there and they last longer than roses bought from a florist that specializes only in flowers. This grocery store has a floral department and always has beatiful roses. He got the roses and all the stuff to make cupcakes last night for less than $20!!! (Which means that the roses were just a bit over $1 each whereas the florists here charge $3 each, and considering they're out of season, he got a killer deal!) Feel free to use my roses, Tash! I'm honored.

Cards... I'm not sure if you can get blank holiday cards. Have you checked Dollar General? Usually in their card section they have some blank insides cards. Not sure if they'd have holiday cards like that or not, but that's where I usually get my blanks.

    Have you looked online?

    Here's some from Zazzle.com: http://www.zazzle.com/blank+inside+holiday+cards

Another school shooting... yippee. Why the hell does this keep happening? Aren't the schools doing anything to prevent this? I don't even want my kids in school b/c of this crap.

FW is on to a good thing. My father used to do much the same thing. He said you should never buy a woman 12 roses, but a single rose 12 times. She would appreciate it 12 times as much. DH goes through phases. For a while he'll buy them at the slightest excuse, and then he'll stop for a while.

Sometimes I buy myself flowers. Especially when I'm all by myself in mid-winter.
