I forgot to mention. Scale said 187.8 this morning. I was completely shocked. My jaw dropped. Never would have expected such a drop given the high amount of sugary carbs I ate this weekend - you know, the 12 apples?? Completely shocked. But I'll take it! 4 lbs lost in 8 days.

WOOT WOOT on the weight loss! You'll be back down to your primal low again in no time! I'm doing a "whole" primal thing also - down 4 pounds in 7 days! I'm 182.6 this morning and reaching for my primal low of 181 that I saw 4 weeks ago. I'm hoping to see it by the 14th. But I will happily greet it sooner if it chooses to show up!

as for the "old" job office party - I think you're right in blowing it off. Unless you still have friends there that you see or talk to on occassion it would be weird and awkward. I always imagine getting those "why is she here?" stares and thats enough to keep me from going.

I don't like to socialize with the people I work with. I have to spend X hours a week with these people - why would I choose to spend any more time with them? even office lunches I find a way to bug out on. Since I don't go to work until 12:30 or 1 pm its easy for me to skip those things. There is always a reason - and I never have to make something up

Keep it up Jenn! You're doing great............. apples and all!

While apples have some sugar, they are pretty low on the glycemic scale compared to most fruits.

That's great. Do you think it is the no dairy? We've heard how that is going for Brady. How about for you? Are you finding it difficult, easy, boring?

*sigh* Some days it's easy, some days it's hard. It's easy for me to avoid processed stuff for the most part, so I don't have to contend with hidden dairy... but, there are things that I'd kill to have cheese or sour cream on - i.e. tacos. I'd rather not have tacos than have a taco with no cheese...

And I miss butter... but I took some kerrygold and melted it down and removed as much of the dairy as I could, and that helps b/c clarified kerrygold tastes the same as regulary kerrygold. In the long run, it's more expensive to clarify it myself than it is to buy ghee, but it tastes soooo much better! And I won't use it for cooking - just for topping things like potatoes and veggies. That should keep the cost down quite a bit.

Other than those instances, I've been fine without dairy. I tended to avoid milk for the most part anyway b/c it makes me feel bloated, but there are definitely days when I would like a big tall glass.

But, I'm on day 10 now... 14 or 17 to go... depends on what I want to do with the work christmas party. There will be cake!! I can probably avoid the cake, but a glass of wine or two would be nice.

Still at 187 this morning. Pleased with that.

    Day 10 Recap:

    B: 2 fried eggs, 3 bacon
L: leftover pork chop and veggies
D: a few bites of cheeseless, sour creamless, salsaless taco salad - eh, not that good. Gave up on it.
S: a few almonds, strawberry coconut milk smoothie (Golden Star CM, a few strawberries, blended together)

    Day 11 Plan:

    B: 2 fried eggs, 3 bacon
L: Chicken legs, green beans with clarified kerrygold
D: brats, pan fried sweet potato (or sweet potato fries)
S: prolly almonds, maybe another smoothie (that word is truly rediculous... smoothie... sounds so dumb... lol)

    Other stuff:

ANYhow... the boy and I have dentist appointments today. Yay fun... *eyeroll* I hate dentist appointments. I'm always so scared of what they're going to find. I think this time I'll be cavity free. And I checked Brady over yesteray. He appears to be cavity free too... but he's got an underbite and that's causing the front of his teeth to wear or chip or something. Dentist has already told me that if his permanent teeth don't come in properly, he'll need braces to correct it. More yay fun...

You are doing really well with your eating. Keep up the good work!

It always shocks me too, when numbers go down after a binge. I don't argue with it, but I don't push my luck...

Although, home-made sugar-free applesauce is a pretty virtuous binge, all things considered. Not like you were eating Sugar Pops or something.

Carb re-feed effect, maybe? It's so easy to eat tons of applesauce. I haven't eaten any that I made last night, but I'm looking forward to it.

You're doing great, Jenn! I can see you're going to be in a happy place by the end of this whole? stretch! I'm sticking to my original plan of doing strict 14 --- then I'll decide if its worth going off program to indulge in something (cheesecake-y purhaps) But as it is right now - I'm feeling like I want to push right through until New Years before before pulling that frozen goodness out of the freezer. It will be a wonderful treat and reward for a month of being strict!

honestly there really isn't anything that I "want" to have over the holidays. I can do without cake and cookies and pie and cinnamon rolls. Now - apple pie filling is tempting! I will say I'm looking forward to a having a some rum and diet coke with hubby on new years.

Mmm... cheesecake... with some dark chocolate drizzled on it... Darn you, Tomi! Haha. Maybe that will be my holiday indulgence too.
