More and more, our life has been governed by specialists, who know too little of what lies outside their province to be able to know enough about what takes place within it.

He's turning away from the dark side!Keep educating him! I wish my hubby was a little closer to even caring about his health. I tried to tell him that m&m's are candy, and the FDA allows 9 rat hairs per candy bar - so m&m's contain rat hair. I thought with his extreme aversion to having hair of any kind in his mouth it would help hinder his m&m addiction --- NOPE.
He's the most stubborn man in the world!

Don't give up what you want MOST, for what you want NOW
hahaha Brad doesn't read... so he'll never have Paleo information to share with me.
On a different topic. I sent him the spreadsheet showing where our money is going this month. This is his response: "Am I supposed to be able to understand that or is that some sort of fear tactic to make me not want to deal with the money? Lol"
I guess my spreadsheet, even only for the month of December, is too much for him to handle. lol I think it's easy.![]()
There are three columns. First one is income and the date it comes in. Second column is what bill I'm paying that week and the amount. Third column is how much money I'm setting aside for savings, etc. Anything that's being paid off that week is highlighted blue. Anything that is an unusual bill (dr, etc) is highlighted yellow. Of course, each column is made pretty so I want to look at it. Here's a pic:

I don't know... I think it's pretty easy to follow. There's a section identical to that for each week of the month to cover all of our bills. I arranged the bills to fit the money received that week, ensuring they're still paid on time. Maybe it's just easy to me b/c I'm a woman. *snicker* Technically, the yellow boxes are 'bills', and they're placed under savings, but that's b/c I didn't want to elongate the expenses column and the savings column had enough room to add all of them. So, that's where they're at.
speaking of which... I got paid today, so time to pay some bills. All those, in fact. :S I hate paying bills. But I think we're good for this week. Neither of us spent any money so we should be in the black! YAY!
It makes sense to me, it's similar to what I have (but all my expenses are just tracked by what I see hitting my bank account, since I use my debit card for everything or expenses are withdrawn automatically). I also have categories on the side that add up things like supplement costs, groceries, student loans (never changes, but I still like to put it there), rent (same as last), utilities (including gas for vehicles), doctor's copays and bill etc. I think it'd be a good thing to sit down and guide him through or see if he has specific questions about how it works, even if it seems simple. He hasn't been thinking about it the way you do. Who knows how he's been thinking about it! haha
Tash, most of those are also paid by debit or autowithdraw, but I still have them on there b/c I have to write them in the check register. Yes, I still keep one even though most of the world has let them go.
The thing is that he's smart enough to figure this one out. He's one of the quickest people I know to figure things out on his own. Not sure why this is so difficult to him.
It's in the "new and different" category. Ask him if he wants you to explain it or if he wants to puzzle it out himself.

My Primal Battle Tome
Wow! I am so glad that your hubs is becoming aware. My hubs is in total denial. I am actually hoping that if I am successful, he will get interested. His eating habits are terrible, but they are his. I have even asked him to read a book and he said he is too busy with school and stuff.
One day I'll be in shape and healthy and he'll be done with school. I'll get naked and throw the book at him and tell him do you like this hot body? He'll drool or something, and I'll look him in the eye and say, NOW I WANT A HOT BODY TO LOOK AT TOO! and jump his bones. He'll read the damn book I bet!
