    Day 2 recap:

    B: 3 boiled eggs, 3 slices bacon
L: leftover catfish, sweet potatoes, steamed broccoli
D: pork chop, green beans with bacon and onion
S: turkey breast, roasted/salted almonds (no oils)

I was uber hungry yesterday. I think stress was playing an enormous roll in that hunger. As such, I overate, but I ate only 100% Whole30 acceptable foods (aside from the fact that nothing was organic/strictly grass fed).

    Day 3 Plan:

    B: 3 boiled eggs, 3 slices bacon
L: leftover pork chop and green beans
D: steak, baked sweet potato (or maybe chicken breast since Brad is on 2nd and it's totally unfair to make steak when he's not home to eat it)
S: almonds, maybe a paleo deviled egg or two.

    Other stuff:

Reading Robb Wolf's The Paleo Solution and loving ever second of it. I wouldn't go as far as saying the man is brilliant b/c he's simply regurgitating information that's already been put out there, but he certainly spells it out in a way that makes total sense and is easy to read - not to mention has a bit of humor to it, so it's not stuffy and dry. I'm hoping to get to bed sooner tonight so I can enjoy the book earlier than I did last night. Posted some bits from the book to Facebook and tagged those I felt it was relavent to.

Cut the maca down to 500 mg today after reading the blog post that was linked on Nameless's journal. No sense in further screwing the hormones up by taking too much too quickly. I'll ease into it. Might even start taking an iodine supplement with it just to be sure it doesn't rob my thyroid of the iodine it needs.

Really tired today. I think the carb flu is in full swing right now. BUT, we had a great morning this morning. Kids were cooperative and we got out the door on time, so for that I'm not bitchy!! Small wonders...

I think a small dose of iodine would be a good idea. I'm not going to mess with the maca root again until my aches and pains go away. It's going pretty slowly this time =\

I know bacon is pretty fatty, but for me, 3 hard-boiled eggs would not be enough in the morning. I wonder if the lack of added fat (like if they were scrambled) is affecting your hunger? Then again, sometimes, no matter how much I eat in the AM, I'm ravenous by lunch time.

I was hungry after lunch - after eating catfish cooked in ghee and sweet potatoes in coconut oil. I think it was strictly stress related.

Financial issues blow. Good for you for having a great plan. I have found including my hubs has helped. That and I turned over all bills to him (I give him my part), so he has to figure out what to do when he doesn't have enough for his share. I still pay more than my share, but this has helped me a lot.

Boy - I had to give up my almond snacking. I found it far to easy to eat handfuls without realizing it! Threw my numbers all out of control! I still snack on almond butter a few times a week - but only when I have LOTS of space in the calorie bank! Like last night. After dinner I was still at only 745 calories. So, I munched on almond butter. I weigh the container before I start and after I'm done. I can almost always get it right on the money for what I have alotted. But, I've noticed it gives me a bit of a queaziness and a slight tummy ache --- so whats up with that?

I don't count calories - especially not when I'm trying to kick a sugar habit.

It sure is interesting to see what different people need. Bacon and three eggs in the morning would stuff me and make me cut back on my protein at the next meal. And I usually only have one other real meal in the day. But I am much less active than you guys are.

    Great work on you W30.

I take 1500 mg Maca for the first 14 days of my cycle and 750 for the second. I have not experienced any problems with it so far.
I also take about 1 mg iodine / day. It has cut down on the heavy bleeding and cramping I used to have due to my IUD.

I am going to reread The Paleo Solution as soon as I finish It Starts With Food.

Oh Yeah...Carb Flu. Drink the bouillon peeps! Sometimes carb flu is just electrolyte imbalance. I drink a cup any time I feel exceptionally tired.
