More eBay buying. I love having a reason to shop.

The cancelled thanksgiving party WILL go on, but without the three drama queens and their drama. I'm sad that the little ones from that side won't be there. I think all of our kids would play so nicely together. 4 girls and 2 boys though... eh, I don't know... lol

Today we had a fundraiser at work. It was a pie in the face fundraiser. We had 7 people who were willing to take pies made from whipped cream. And then there were some nominees. I think we made enough pies for 9 or 10 total people. We raised $593 though, so that's a plus. The COL, my boss, went for the most money. He was pied for $180. lol

Ate some unapproved stuff over lunch... We had a potluck at work to celebrate Thanksgiving. I paid for it immediately after. The cramps were BAD! They weren't rolling cramps either, like the ones that start at the top and work their way down... these were non-rollers. They just kept a tight grip and wouldn't let go. They sent cold chills through my body. They were rockin' cramps. Freaking awesome. Not sure if it was something I ate today or yesterday that did it. Stuff was "fresh" though b/c it smelled like fish (I took my fish oils around 9 and had the fun in the bathroom about 1:30). Anyhow... I'll be a little more careful for the rest of our Thanksgiving feasts. And then the Whole30(27) to detox it out.

Started reading the Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf last night. I like it so far and can't wait to keep reading.

Y'know, they could get rid of a fair number of spammers by banning these fuckers by MAC address or IP. I KNOW at least half of these are the same assholes under different handles.

Because it was completely unrelated to the current thread, and he quoted the same shit most of the spamemrs do, I flagged 'em.

Sometimes it's a major asset to live away from all family. Closest on my side is a 12 hour drive, hubby's is a good bit further in the other direction. A good way to stay away from family drama.

Jenn, I've been behind a bit. I am really impressed by your untold success story. That is awesome.

We've been relatively fortunate with the family drama thing. Two close relatives were not talking for years on end, but they would at least come to the family festivities and ignore each other. They are finally talking again, which is nice.

wow... three spammers for me today! one I get to keep all to myself b/c he only has two posts!! YAY! *whatev*

learned that my aunt not only deleted me, but also blocked me... that's too bad. I hope she realizes that doing so will also cut her off from my kids and Makenna was her little buddy... Maybe when she hits the age of 48 she'll grow up a bit (yes, she's 47 and acting like a child).

Stayed up too late again tonight... 10:30 now. Prolly better head to bed. Night all.

yes, we all have the family drama. My next oldest sister wasn't talking to the rest of us for many years. and most of us weren't communicating with our mom for a number of years also. In the past 3 years we've all come to terms with our differences and we're all enjoying each others company again.

On the hubby side - one nephew and his parents (hubby's brother) aren't speaking or being around each other. Nephew married very TOXIC woman (I have the pleasure of claiming to have introduced them!) and she has just caused all kinds of messes in that family. BIL and his wife finally had to just close the door totally and say "until you can see what you're doing we want NO contact with you" .............. and the kids act like they have NO idea why the parents cut off the ties. Its crazy. The think is - NO ONE in the family wants the son and his crazy wife to come to family functions so we all are thankful they have cut the ties. This way we always know - if BIL and wife are coming - the trouble makes aren't coming! They will show up 3 hours late and expect to be cattered to........ no matter what the event they are always terribly late. the finally finally communicated about it this year and decided not to do that anymore. If they show up late and the food is all put away they will have to take care of themselves, and clean up the dishes too!

    I hate family drama!

Nate posted something on facebook that I thought was directed toward me. Something about how selfish and childish are you. it's not all about you and no one cares what you have to say. I responded with how I thought this was about giving stepmom her wish of a family meal where she can cook gobs of food and feed the people she loves, about six kids that haven't seen each other since easter getting together to play, 4 cousins hanging out and having fun, spending time with family and people we love, etc, etc, etc. I said that if Grandpa was still alive this wouldn't be happening b/c he'd be kicking all our asses for being so disrespectful and hateful towards each other. He came back and said that post wasn't about Thanksgiving and that he's talked to stepmom and all is good between them. I apologized for my assumption, but left my post. I also cleverly put in there that they can delete me and block me all they want if they don't like what I have to say, but asked that they remind Aunt Sally that by blocking me, she's indicating she doesn't want to be Aunt Sally to Brady and Makenna. She had a bond with Makenna and thought maybe reminding her of that would help her get over her little issue.

I talked to Michael last night too about getting the girls together with our kids for a playdate one of these weekends since Thanksgiving with them isn't going to happen. He thought that was a good idea.

The only one who's not being civil about this is the oldest one in the group. This morning stepmom called me and asked me to not engage aunt on facebook. I told her I can't see her posts or her comments on people's posts b/c she deleted and blocked me. I guess she's still talking smack about it. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to live with so much hate in your body. It can't be enjoyable.

Anyhow... first Family Thanksgiving is this weekend. I'm looking forward to some coconut cream pie! Other things will include bbq pork, probably corn, probably some kind of potato, MIL will bring her broccoli, chemical cheese and rice concoction... I'm not sure what I'll bring. The rice stuffing, while time consuming, was pretty easy to make. But it's missing something in the spice category. And I'm not sure about taking rice to a dinner where there will already be a favorite rice dish. Maybe I can make primal green bean casserole!! I found a killer cream of mushroom recipe! Yeah, that might be what I do. And maybe sprinkle some almond flour over the top to replace the fried onions. I have to be careful though... we have a peanut allergy in the family and I'm not sure if he's allergic to all nuts or just peanuts. Maybe I could do fudge instead. Primal fudge. There's a recipe on PaleOMG. But there's usually MORE than enough desserts. Problem is, there are not many people there but there is MORE than enough food. Grandma makes a HUGE meal. There are usually 20 of us there, but she cooks for about 40. lol I wish I had a definite food item that I bring every year. MIL has her rice deal that every counts on ever year. I wish I had that "count on" dish. Maybe one of these years I'll find something everyone wants me to bring each year. Hopefully.

Throw some ideas at me... what do you take to family thanksgiving feasts?

Caramel apple pie, mock and cheese, or homemade chile (salsa) with chopped veggies and chips.
