How do you eat tacos ??? I've been missing tacos for so long - but how do you eat it without a corn or flour tortilla? Maybe put all the fixings in a lettuce leaf and wrap?
Good job on the run! I find that physical activity always motivates me to eat better![]()

We have a restaurant here that sells their salsa. It is absolutely amazing so we keep buying it. Since it's local and not factory made, there are no preservatives.
Typically I would use a lettuce leaf. Tonight, since I forgot to buy any leaf lettuce, I will just make a taco salad for myself. Brad still eats tortillas and Brady gets corn tortillas. Makenna just eats meat and cheese with a tiny bit of lettuce.![]()
I coat my apples in lemon or lime juice.
To beat the sugar craving, have you tried allowing yourself a piece of fruit every day? Savoured very slowly, to maximize the sugar experience. Or the frozen blueberries with stevia and cream trick? I just did a week without sugar at all, and I found not eating fruit the hardest, to be quite honest, even if I'm not a huge fruit eater. Heck, don't allow yourself, FORCE yourself... Nothing like making it a requirement to take the temptation factor out of it.
Just ignore all that if you've already tried it.

More and more, our life has been governed by specialists, who know too little of what lies outside their province to be able to know enough about what takes place within it.

Today is sooooo boring. I'd like to sneak out to vote and get that knocked out, but there's no sneaking out to vote when your polling place is 45 minutes away from the office... I'd be gone for a minimum of an hour and a half... I think someone would notice. Not to mention the gas I'd burn (a whole day's worth). Hopefully our polling place isn't real busy when I get off work. I would have stopped this morning but I didn't want to be late for work (even though it's authorized on Election Day) - and for what it's worth, I was the one to unlock the office today.![]()
Riddle me this... why is Columbus Day a national freaking holiday that closes all government offices, but Election Day is not... we should CELEBRATE our right to choose our nation's leader by taking the day off... What I love about our area is that it's really small. The population of our town is only like 3,000 or so, so there's not usually a long line at our polling place. I like that. It's usually an in and out thing - especially for primaries. Presidential elections pull a larger crowd, but it's not bad - usually no longer than a 10 minute wait for a booth. Hopefully this holds true for tonight b/c it appears Brad won't be able to pick up the kids...
Gay Panda's little DEBAUCHERY fairy visited me last night... The brownies beckoned to me. And I succumbed like Greek Seamen to the Sirens. And then the Chex cereals called to me... and I succumbed again... I suck. I avoided the scale today b/c I know the milk bloat would break my heart.
Going to TRY my damnedest to avoid the sugar today... If I MUST have sugar, I'll have dark chocolate... I'll break off a piece of the Dove bar, and savor it til it's gone. And then have another.
Dinner tonight will either be pork chops or strip steak... depends on which one I feel like making.... both require a grill and right now my grill is jacked. I prefer the grill over the broiler in my oven... Back to the grill - I think the burners are going bad. Last time I had it on, I set it to high and the temp didn't exceed 200. Very tiny flames coming out of the burners. It's weird to me that one day they'll be perfectly find and then the next time we use it, they're junk... you'd think they'd GRADUALLY get junky... but not these. So, eventually I'll have to research replacing those b/c there's no way we can afford a grill right now. And there's nothing wrong with the body of the grill - just the burners, so if I can get away with just replacing those and keeping the grill body to save a few hundred bucks, I will.
Tacos last night turned out ok. The seasoning was right... what wasn't right was that I didn't add any water, so the taco meat was dry and not saucy. I think I'll add water next time to produce the "sauce". Brad was happy with the flavor. I learned I am not a fan of cumin... I think the strong smell of it gives me a headache. It was either that or the strong onion I chopped for my taco salad. I left the onions at home today. Brad's aftershave also gives me a headache, so maybe it's a strong scent thing for me.
Anyhow... with that, I'm going to go upstairs and get some sour cream for my leftover taco salad.![]()
Oregon has mail in voting - we voted last week.Hope your schedule works out for everything needing to be done.
You can get a grip on the sugar/milk/cereal monster and throw him out the door! Dig deep and find that resolve that got you through the whole30 before! Its still in there -- its just being sat on by that dang monster! Remember eating healthy satisfying foods will eliminate those cravings. Fill up on the good stuff and there won't be room for anything bad.
I'm cutting bacon out for a few days - too salty I think. Super bloated today - even have bags under my eyes!

I agree that election day should be a federal holiday and get rid of early voting.

hahaha my son has turned into a parrot!! I've been trying to instill the importance of time management and not dilly dallying in him. Today I told him we needed to get moving so we aren't late. He asked what it means to be late. I told him it means Mommy won't be on time to work and she'll get in trouble". He asked if that could get me fired (we've talked about this before and the word fired was brought up). I said yes, it's possible. He told his dad that if I'm late one more time, I'm going to get fired... lmao Of course, Brad doesn't find it to be very funny....
Keep in mind, the same kid saw an ambulance drive by the daycare yesterday while I was dropping Makenna off. I got in the car and he said "Mom, I saw an ambulance. Someone must be hurt. There must have been an accident". I told him more likely someone is sick because if there had been an accident, he would have also seen fire trucks go by. (I saw the ambulance and it was not accompanied by fire trucks). A few minutes later, he's still jabbering about the ambulance and saying someone was probably hurt. I said, "No, there was no accident b/c there were no fire trucks". He said "Well, actually, Mom, I did see a fire truck. It was in front of the ambulance"... then a few minutes later "Actually, Mom, I saw two fire trucks".
The kid will will make a really good fisherman someday for his ability to embellish stories!
I think "story telling" is due to a male hormone! They can't control it anymore than we can control PMS!
