This is the current layout of my kitchen. Take note of the closet that is presently behind my stove... it opens in the dining room. From left to right you see the wall I want removed, which houses my stove. To the right of the stove is the sink, and immediately next to the sink is my dishwasher. Then NOTHING AT ALL EXCEPT VACANT COUNTER SPACE until you reach the pantry (in the corner) and my fridge. There is an island in my kitchen, but we have removed it b/c it was a gynormous pain in the ass. Always in the way, on rollers, and just collected shit on top of it (however, it did house my pans).
This is what I want to do with it. I want to move the stove to the opposite wall on the same angle (so instead of being on the left side of the kitchen, it'll be on the right, closer to the fridge and pantry) or even right next to the pantry which houses bakeware and a few dry primal foods right now or better yet, in the middle of that long spanse of countertop so I have both sides of the stove to do my work. Then we can knock out that wall between the rooms, which will result in fewer cabinets (and consequently the one that houses my pans - but I could put them in my pantry), but those cabinets can be put to use in the racing trailer. The closet that I would lose (which houses my vacuum and broom, etc) will be to the left of the counters. Easy stuff... Pull the cabinets and counters, put the stove where I want it, fit the cabinets, replace the counter top, and build a closet. Bam... done. Of course, I know there's more to it than that... I would probably take us a long weekend to complete it. And hell, maybe with that configuration without that wall between the rooms, my island will work in there again and can make the move back in from the garage?? Maybe.
Anyhow, it's all dreams right now...
