I'm a disabled woman... lots of people on drugs act as if you sprayed them with water when hit with pepper.
That said I really don't think EVERYONE should own a gun. Especially handguns.
I grew up with guns, using them.
I've hunted and killed game.
I've seen dead people outside of funerals...
I practice. I know my weapon.
It is not my desire to kill someone, I make sure my windows and doors are locked, and I let the locals see that I have a near 100lb GSD that lives with me as a deterrent (this seems pretty effective BTW... I had ti have some delivery guys in to drop off a new chair while husband was at work, they were afraid of my sweet dog)... but I do not doubt my ability to pull the trigger.
IMO Getting a handgun and shooting it once then having it around isn't really safe.
And there should be more training and knowledge of use and self required to own them.
Owning a handgun because you just want to point it at someone to scare them off is the worst idea ever!
