The boys started school on Tuesday. I don't love having schedules and for some reason homeschooling just hasn't felt right, so back to the grind they go. They have pretty good teachers from what I can tell, and so far they've been happy with their primal lunches and haven't been offered much junk at school. I have hopes that this year will be great. As soon as WLB got home from work we took off to Woodland Park and just played around and explored as a family. We had a rousing game of tag that has us all laughing and sweating. I took the girls on walks and to the park a few mornings after dropping the boys off, but the week was so busy with babysitting and back to school nights and such that it was hard to get in a running night or any purposeful workout. Come Friday morning I just had to do something, so I popped in the intermediate yoga DVD that WLB got me for Christmas and spent an hour just getting back into my body. It was AWESOME. It's been far too long since I had a good long vinyasa. It felt amazing and left me spent, sore and so happy. Girl #1 really wanted to walk to get the boys. She wore shoes that didn't fit and lost the latch to the jogging stroller, so I pushed Girl #2 in the umbrella stroller and carried Girl #1 on my shoulders the 1.7 mile round trip (carrying backpacks on the way home). It was hot and sweaty! I felt like I'd gotten plenty of exercise for the day, when suddenly our plans for a running night (which we had assumed were dead) were resurrected. WLB wanted to go and Misha offered to bring her boys over for dinner and watch all the kids while we went. I was already about dead at that point, but threw together a spaghetti zoodle and meatball dinner and off we went up Farmington Canyon! Both of us were pretty spent for the day, but we had a good leisurely run, stopping to play, climb, make out and take pictures. 3.7ish miles total.
Did I say pictures? Yes. Yes I did.
FALL LEAVES!!
I love a good canyon trail run!
And why not add some yoga?... on a rock.... cuz I'm awesome like that....
Love, love ,love...
