Do you guys eat fat by itself or always with protein?

I am really enjoying my avocado in the mornings. I don't really feel like eating anything else with it. :/ What do you guys think?

I eat coconut oil out of the jar. Yum.

I don't think there's a problem with it; sometimes I don't fancy anything else either.

I had avocados last night by itself, I can't really mix them with anything the texture feels odd.

Anybody warm up their avocados? or put them over something hot? I think I might try that later... I have some really nice buttery avocados to eat in the next few days before they go bad. I'm going to put them over warm chicken...

Dang, now I have a craving for avocado on toasted bread... uhh yeah might have to do that later, sorry PB.

I used to seriously post here, now I prefer to troll.

Avocados have a bit of carbs in them, and a bit of protein, too. I'd recommend having your avocados as guacamole and having them over some chicken or a steak.

Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Are avocados okay to eat almost every day? I just started going primal, and I know that I have to kick the idea that fats are bad, but still, it makes me feel a little weird to be eating a whole avocado, although it is really satisfying.

I eat avocados warm and cold. Well, I haven't ever warmed them, but I serve them with fried or scrambled eggs...really good with ham, onion, and mushroom too! love me some avocado!!!

I love an avocado sliced over some salad leaves, with sizzling bacon bits (and bacon grease) on top. Yum!

I think you don't have to worry about eating fat on its own, as dietary fat is not metabolically active. Carbs, on the other hand, are a different story, and that's why it's recommended that you eat them with protein and fat. For example, a piece of fruit with coconut cream.

    speaking of avocados...

When I was a kid we had a relative living with us who took a half avocado and then filled it with caviar (roe), sour cream, onions, lemon, and maybe even some hard boiled egg. I loved it - haven't had it since (was afraid of the fat). Maybe something to try again.

I love my avo with a little olive oil and hot sauce (and maybe a little sea salt). Yes, my girlfriend thinks I'm nuts.
