Sorry you're not feeling well, Coll. I hope it settles back into place quickly.
Just keep chipping away at things. Change one small habit here, one small habit there, and you will eventually get there.
When I was preparing to lose weight pre-Primal, I would ask myself continually, "Is there something else I could eat/drink that would be better but just as much fun?" I knew I wanted a better lifestyle that I could maintain for the rest of my life, so it had to be joyful. Bit by bit I found those better ways. Sometimes it was just to eat a smaller helping.
I recommend not eating too many starchy things. I do have potatoes occasionally or a bit of rice, but I try to keep it infrequent and small helpings. And I try not to have more than one starchy food a day. Bananas and sweet potatoes are included in there. And when I'm in active weight loss mode, I cut them even further, and eliminate desserts, even allowable ones. It's only temporary, so it's not too intimidating. It's amazing what you can do when you know when it's going to end.

More and more, our life has been governed by specialists, who know too little of what lies outside their province to be able to know enough about what takes place within it.
