Judg, you are so right about the veggies! I love them and yet I forget about them all the time. Silly me. OK, today is a veggie day!

I bought some nice looking artichokes yesterday so will make those for dinner, and I have a cucumber waiting to be chomped before it goes soft. And I have a bag of mini carrots that are aging but still ok. A nice punnet of fresh baby portabellas - time to dig into the veg. And now I need to get going with school - slow start today.

Nice sunrise! Hurray for veggies! My bi-weekly shipments of organic veggies is kind of keeping me on my toes. The next shipment is going to come, whether I've eaten the last batch or not! Chomp, chomp!

No batteries in my keyboard last night so had to wait until the batteries charged

Had a reasonable day, though I ate too much at least it was more veggies and no junk (at this point I consider chocolate that is not 70% or more junk because it seems to trigger my chocoholic tendencies!) DH brought home 4 deerskins that we had to trim meat off from bad skinning, and we spent a lot of time on our knees and bent over the skins. Next time we'll do it on a table of some kind because that was a back killer for sure! Coated them all with salt and left them on our back porch overnight and then he was up with the first light of dawn to roll them up and cram them into 5 gallon buckets. This is our first excursion into brain tanning of deerskins to make buckskin. Glad this is mostly hubbies deal as it looks to be really physical work at times. Good way for him to get a workout I guess He is a little allergic to structured exercise I think, he used to be in great shape from working physically all day, but the jobs he has had lately have not been very taxing physically and I think he misses the exercise. He is thrilled to bits about this whole endeavour, and his brother is bringing at least 2 elk hides home this weekend for us to tan as well.

I also have a buffolo hide that I am going to attempt to make some mocassin boots out of. I am nervous and excited about this, nervous that it will be too hard for me and that I will mess up the leather, and really hoping that I can at least make a pair that will be usable and comfortable. I still need to purchase the tools etc. so the project is on hold until I can get everything I need together. Tandy Leather has a Black Friday sale which I am going to try and take advantage of to get the last things I need. I am also planning on trying the whole thing out on a pair of DH's old jeans to see if I like the pattern I picked... major learning curve ahead for both of us I guess!

Breakfast today, 1 large chunk of cucumber, 2 mushrooms, 3 fried eggs, and a cup of tea with cream.

Supposed to be doing school but DS and DD accidentally broke a snow globe right in the biggest mess in her room. Sigh. So today is going to be spent instead, getting her to tidy her room! Major mission!!! She is very creative, and extremely messy! This is going to have to be a watershed moment for her room and me consistently requiring a minimum of tidiness. I forsee a drawn out battle until the habit is formed. Eeeek!

I am having a great deal of fun painting rocks and knitting at the moment! I really don't know how to price the rocks .... I want them to be affordable, and yet still worth it for me to take the time to paint them. It is very therapeutic I must say though so that is part of the benefit of doing them even if I don't get much in the way of monetary compensation. I guess I just would like to cover the cost of the paint and brushes. Not a huge amount invested there. I have started knitting myself a pullover for the first time in many, many years. It was always too depressing thinking of knitting a huge sweater. Now I am down to a size large I figure I could wear it even when I am slimmer without it looking too much like a tent. Even when at a good weight I was never really smaller than a medium ... heck, if I got slim enough that it looked like a tent I would happily pass it on! It would be worth it!

OH! How could I forget!? DH has rigged up a pullup bar for us!! How cool is that? I tried a few double leg assisted and got somewhat stiff So maybe tomorrow I will do another LHT workout. Today will be lots of slow movement with organising DD's room!

Just gave my pinky finger a hearty chop with the paring knife! Note to self, don't cut up apples while hiccuping!

Ouch!

I love rocks. I have been wondering what to do with my rather large rock collection, which is currently hiding on a lower shelf. I think I am going to just rotate them onto my desk, where I can hold them and think about how unimaginably old they are, and how many millennium they will continue to be here when even my dust is dust.

Ambitious is a good word for it Judg! But it should be interesting and always fun to do things like that together Got the bedroom part way sorted and this afternoon had to go foraging or we would not have had much for dinner. Was pleased to find the store had all kinds of sales that I benefited from. Just couldn't get much done this afternoon with my sore finger - amazing how much you use even a pinky finger on your left hand. Had steamed artichokes with garlic butter and pork chops for dinner. Some chocolate too - the junk kind Milk chocolate, organic but too nice so I have too much. I am on a roll in the wrong direction at the moment. Totally pooped this evening, off to bed nice and early today. Sleep well all.
