My plan is to go three full days. However, last time, I did not get Stomach Hunger until 47 hours in. So, I am considering marking my three days from whenever I get to that point. Just considering, though. I'm at 38 hours right now.

My last food was at 9:00pm on Thursday, which would take me to Sunday night, but no night-time breaking of the fast for me. So Monday morning will be my ending time, possibly longer.

Well, you are brave. I've never attempted something that long before. And I'm not going to try it now, either, until my fatigue issues improve. Let us know how it goes.

I am really interested in your fast; I would like to try it myself but I think I should give myself some time first. Maybe six months primal? I read your thread over in nutrition, will check for updates. Here's to good health, great health!

good luck on the fast Sabine!! I will be able to do it when I get my adrenal fatigue/thyroid disorder healed. Will be anxious to see how it goes for you!! Mom has been doing them about once every week or every other week...& has done very well with it. But I can't right now due to the metabolism issues. But that's ok.

    Fasting away

It is throwing me for a loop (a little) that I am STILL not hungry. I am 62 hours in. I will definitely be going until at least tomorrow morning, and stopping no later than Wednesday lunch. I do not want to go to the gym still fasting. Just because.

    Here's yesterday:

    Up at 6:10
    Vitamins
    Walking: 120 minutes
    Water: 16 glasses
    Bed at 9:00

My energy was good, and I felt clear-headed. (Which was good, because Middlest's friend had a crisis, and I had to jump into rescue mode. Zipping around town for two hours helping them. As the crisis was generated by friend's mother having a massive failure in parenting responsibilities, I feel like Super-Mom. Good for my ego, though the personal anxiety over their situation is bad.) Pleased with the amount of water I drank. It felt just right, though I did have a few more sips during the night for a dry mouth. I have been peeing A LOT.

Planning a quiet day today, with one more walk with the dogs. I have been trying to use my non-eating time to do more slow walking. Very relaxing.

Honey broke his fast at 27 hours, and feels it went well, though didn't do anything amazing for his congestion. I noticed that most of the snacks he chose today, are healthy ones, though.

Went for a lovely hike through the woods this morning, while my honey did the bike loop.

This is amazing! This is exactly what I fed my sweet tooth yesterday -- dk chocolate and raspberries. (Not in this form.) HMMM...

Also, thx for the heads up re: Gay Panda. After I finish your (WONDERFUL) journal, I'm headed over there!

Brief summary of his point: when vegetable oils are eaten, they go straight to fat cells, and aren't available for use. Even when your body needs the energy, fat that was created by vegetable oil, isn't going to come out. It stays in your fat cell, and on you, until the cell dies, after about two years.

While frustrating in the short term, this would be great for those of us committed to primal as a lifestyle. After two years, all that last stubborn fat would finally get up and go. I do wonder if you might start feeling like crap, though, as you would be essentially doing an enormous detox.

I'm going to try and learn more about this.
Oh my god, this is incredible. I was reading in DEEP NUTRITION that it may take as much as NINE MONTHS for the full benefits of completely avoiding gluten to appear. Completely. Avoiding. And I was like, ok, I can go without wheat for 9 months. But then this! Two years for the veggie oil cells to die! Okay. Awesome. Now I know. I threw out all my veggie oil last week and I am committed to only cooking with lard and coconut oil. Thanks for your awesome journal!

Kalli- I have no idea if this is factual. Just thought it was interesting and want to learn more about it. I do feel it might explain some weight loss (or lack thereof) patterns. Still haven't done any research on it. Guess I'm hoping Mark will take care of that, if I wait long enough.
