Lucky You. I would love to meet any of my MDA friends. I am trying to hook up with one in Boston over Thanksgiving.

Aaah, don't sweat it Sabine!! You are lovable and Naiad is not going to judge you! She knows what has been going on and can quite understand I am sure! I know I can!! I am jealous that you get to meet her - I would love to connect with some of my journal friends here. We all know we are very real with plenty issues ... but we accept each other with all the lumps and bumps. Don't worry - just enjoy!! Have fun! Leave the stress out of it ok?!

I'm sure your meetup with NK will be great. I recently (ok, February 2011) met up with two gals I'd been friends with on the internet for well over 6 years, maybe even 7 years. We'd become as best of friends as you could get while conversing online and over the phone/texting. We met and it was awesome. I cried when we parted ways after two full days together. It was so much fun to meet them. I can't wait to meet up with them again. I'm sure your time with NK will be great.

By the way, I'm 32 and still have not tried corned beef hash... it just doesn't even sound good...

Oh! Corned beef is lovely. I suggest the St. Patrick's Day Gateway meal: corned beef, cabbage, potatoes(sweet or otherwise). Just wonderful stuff, and what's more primal than meat and veg. Great as a boiled dinner, and even better the next day, with all the leftovers fried together into hash.
The only priviso is watch out for your pot boiling over, because the water smells nasty the next day if you don't get right to it. (As I usually don't. No dishes after dark, that's my motto!)

Pfft. Sabine, don't worry about it. I don't wear make up, except at work, and I'm sure as hell not expecting you to. Chillax. I'm human (mostly.) My sense of humor is punny, geeky, and a bit off kilter (I'll try to keep it clean, but my mind many not stay there.)
I've put up photos in my journal, but if you're too lazy or busy to find 'em: I'm not kidding when I say I'm tiny. 5'3" on a good day; relatively thin, but no supermodel; blonde, and I look a good 7-10 years younger than my age (7's with make up.) Small frame. If you're imagining a Greek water nymph with blonde hair, you're probably not far off.
I will say beware: my personality makes me come across as bigger and badder than I really am. Seriously. Don't expect me as the big bad wolf.

How fun! and brave............ I'm too insecure to do that!

Corned beef hash.......... I think I had that when I was a kid -- it was good. Maybe I'll try that someday and see what the hubby thinks.

I've met Internet friends before. It was always good. And yeah, you usually do have to readjust the mental images, at least if you haven't been looking at pictures.

Any radio personalities I've seen face-to-face were really, really, really dorky-looking. They sound so gorgeous, but they sure don't look it! Well, the ones I've seen anyway. Mind you, there is one in town who used to be on TV and she is gorgeous. But she's such an incredibly warm and empathetic person, you don't even mind... LOL!

    Almost a normal post

I salute those who do workouts, and keep track of how many reps, and sets, and poundage, intensity, and all that good stuff.
But my goodness, how boring to read.
There should be a warning on journals like that.
And it is strange, because on the general threads, and other people's journals, sometimes those folks are very engaging.
But if I open another thread and see post after post of stats, I'm going to plotz.

This morning I had bacon and butternut squash.
For lunch I had fish and rice and cucumber.
    Tonight will be tacos.
    Good heavens, it's almost primal!

I did NO sets or reps of anything, but I walked a roundtrip to the library. And bailed two loads of laundry, and one load of dishes.

Still waiting to hear a starting time for Honey. They said they are 'setting up his computer and workstation'. That sounds very definite, but please, for pity's sake, just tell him a day and time to come in. Pretty, pretty please! Tomorrow I need to call one of our creditors, and it would be so much nicer if I could say one of us was employed, and the money will start flowing again.

Oh, and Middlest got back from her college visit. She didn't have a great time with her host, but learned a lot about the campus.

A lady in the store admired my bag (I made it myself). Happy, happy ego.
