    Sabine-
I will be in DFW over Thanksgiving, if that offer to hang out is still good. Thursday is a no go, but Friday is good, as is Saturday morning.
I didn't try corned beast until Geek had me try it back in college (22, I think.) I love that stuff. I've never made it, but I probably should.

Naiadknight- I'll pm you later today with details, and you can choose which works best for you. Getting ready to take Middlest to the airport for a college visit right now, so I'm too rushed and nervous to be accurate (but not to get on MDA to peruse the journals!).

Well, she's off. I hope she has a good time. I would like to see the campus (time for that if she goes there, I guess) but I am pleased that she is doing this on her own. I think it will give her more of the taste of the college experience, than if she were schlepping around with her mom.

Uh-oh. Big crash in the garage. Need to-- just a bin. Whew!

Well, ate large quantities of potato salad last night, and more this morning. It is just too good. I think my twice a year plan is probably wise. Tonight will be beef heart stew with butternut squash served over rice. And added in from the food bank, canned asparagus with Trader Joe's Hollandaise. Yes, you read that right, Hollandaise. I know!

One of Honey's friends picked him up and is taking him down to L B Houston Park in Dallas to go riding. There are clouds overhead, but I think any rain will be well to the north of them. Right here, we are just having a delicious breeze being blown in that SMELLS like rain, without the peskiness of actual moisture. Up in Ohio, Middlest will be getting mid-40s. She's being brave about it, though. She is a definite delicate blossom when it comes to cold weather.

Won't you take me to...uh-huh...Funky Town."

WHAT is Debauchery doing here? There's no place for her in the suburbs!

But wow! I didn't know you could do that on a pole. I see how you got the shiner.

Okay, WHAT is cvv, and why are people (or ppl) selling it on MDA? Can it really be that popular?

Last night's dinner was somewhat disappointing. The beef heart was tough, not tender, melting goodness like last time, and the canned asparagus, was, well, canned asparagus. Littlest expected the Hollandaise to be magical, and was surprised to find it is just like warm, zingy mayonnaise. We are going to have some as Eggs Benedict this morning, though(we got English muffins from the food bank, too). But it filled out tummies with calories, and our sink with dishes, so I guess it performed its function.

Yesterday I rode my bike to the grocery to get Middlest a pack of gum. It was early, about 6:15, and still dark. Being Sunday, there was NO ONE on the road. The weather was mild, so there was no shivering or sweating going on, just me, riding my bike on empty streets through the dark.

I really liked it. I should get out by myself in the night more often. Usually I have the dogs, and there's a sense of hustle. This was beautifully peaceful and private.

Oh! No more bean salad for me. It is just not worth it. I felt unacceptable for human consumption, and yet I still had to be with people. Very embarrassing.

    Okay, I take it back

Our kitchen sink can NOT handle the drainage. Some kind of leaky situation going on under there. Once Littlest is off to school, and Honey is at the gym, I'll haul out all the stuff from under the sink, and try to figure out what is happening.

LOL @ bean salad. Yup, when you haven't eaten beans in a while, they pack quite the punch!

Good luck solving the sink problem. It's due.

We don't know yet. Still waiting to hear about the start date. We're hoping tomorrow.

The sink is beyond me right now. We're going to use dishpans and empty them elsewhere. That's all I can manage right now.

    I'm excited!

Naiadknight's going to stop by at Thanksgiving time. I will ply her with pie and get to meet her in person.

So, of course, I am worrying.

What is meeting someone in person after you have known them on the internet like?

I have this image in my head. I even feel like I know what her voice sounds like. Will I be getting a shock, like I do whenever I see what radio personalities look like? (Bad idea! These people should never show their faces, but remain vocal personalities only. It is too disconcerting. Especially if they look great. I want my radio people to be plain. It gives hope to us all. [Diane Reahm, I'm talking to you!] )

    And what about her shock?

I've never put a picture up. It doesn't help that I've gained weight in my job-stress time. I feel like I don't even have my 'primal cred' going on.

Just so you know, Naiadknight, I'm 5'8", over-weight, blond, and old enough to be your mother if I had started right away. I'm also chatty, casual, creative with fiber, inquisitive, and have a strange sense of humor(no puns).

I guess I can't call her Naiadknight, either. Hmmm. When I type, I do the whole handle, but when I think about her, I think of her as 'Naiad'. I wonder if that has influenced the mental image I have built of her? Mischievous water sprite, that's definitely what I have scampering in my imagination. (No pressure, Naiadknight!)

In any case, I think I'm going to be putting make-up on.
