Coconut Oil Questions! page

I use coconut oil for everything, as a body lotion, for a hair moisturizer and cooking to name a few. Since i use so much I want to begin purchasing it in large quantities from online and I was just wondering if there are any considerations to look at when purchasing it for the best quality coconut oil! If anyone knows of any tips when purchasing the "best" coconut oil that would be awesome, thanks!

In Canada, your best bet for price and quality in organic coconut products is probably Nutiva. If you were in the States (or have a US mailing drop), Tropical Traditions is a good choice, especially when you can catch a sale.

You could spend more for some of the "boutique" brands but you're not getting a better product, IMHO. As long as you stay with cold pressed organic, you'll be fine.

I recommend NSI's virgin coconut oil.

I've had this and Nutiva, and there is no discernible difference in color, taste, flavor or texture. The quality as far as I can tell is just as good and it is 20% less expensive regular price. It goes on sale frequently for $15. There's no point in spending any additional money for a name brand that provides no discernible quality increase. You're paying a large premium for the same oil in a slightly different package.

wilderness family naturals makes several nice varieties and they're all organic as far as I know.
