Does anyone know what Mark's take is on sesame seed butter and almond butter mixed with flaxseed (claim to have a good Omega6:3 ratio in the almond butter and flaxseed jar)? I was at Trader Joe's and they sell both.
I can think of several posts that relate to your question:
From what I've gathered, sesame seed is ok in small doses, but don't overdo it because of the high PUFA content (most of which is omega 6). Flax is probably not as great as once thought since the plant form of o3 (ALA) is not very easily converted/absorbed. You're better off getting omega 3 from fish/fish oil. And almonds have a smaller PUFA content than sesame so they can be a reasonable addition. Hope this helps!
