Yeah, they're over-priced and snooty.
Many of the local grocery stores now have an olive bar - a kiosk where there is a variety of olives, peppers, sun dried tomatoes, etc. and you scoop whatever mix of them you'd like into a plastic container and pay for it by weight.
I think they make a tasty side, and I like to throw some in a salad, but are they nutritious? Everything is soaking in oil - which I am presuming is olive oil, but I don't know for sure. Any other issues?

In the UK these goodies are usually in sunflower oil, not olive oil, which is maddening. I would check before buying. If they're in olive oil then I can't see any reason not to indulge yourself.

I fear that it may not be olive oil, mainly because I have gotten ill from it twice recently. Sad, because sometimes I just want a few olives as a snack, and had always thought that those olive bars would be quite handy. I would go with jarred olives since they have the ingredients clearly marked.
The marinaded mushrooms are a serious weakness for me. I don't usually buy them because they are way over priced. But I do love them!!!
I love olive bars. I wish I knew the oils used all the time. Stores like Whole Foods might use olive oil, but I'd ask the store to be sure.
You could rinse them at hone and add your own oil.
