You could sacrifice a potato to the cause. I've heard that cubed up potatoes can soak up salt if you put too much salt in. Perhaps it can help with the burnt flavor.
Set my timer to remind me, but forgot to press start!
Ended up with burnt bones at bottom. Added some water but now the whole broth is bitter. Can it be salvaged or do I have to toss it
I have googled but not found anything except instructions which say 'don't burn it!'

Thanks I'll give it a try. Can't get any worse at this stage.
I have an image of putting on some high priestess robes, burning some sage and using a ceremonial silver knife to sacrifice the potato. I'm sure that's not what you mean thought.
I think you may have to toss it. Have any pets?
It's pig food. Once it is burnt you have to sling it out. I can't remember the exact medical reason but burnt food tastes bad and is also bad for you. Your dog might eat it. I had to check out a similar duck carcass soup recently on the same basis, veg, lard and all. I left it on high overnight instead of low. Was burnt.
Only a very fussy cat who turns his nose up at everything that isn't fresh fish or liver
Well I was exaggerating a bit. He is fussy, he love fish and liver but he will eat cat food. he's not fat and is doing very well at 17 years old.
And hey I'm a soft touch. What can I say.
