Hey Grokstars,
Check out my newest calisthenics video. Betcha there's a few moves you've never seen before in this one:

Pistol burpees!
those slow MUs are nice, looks brutal though, damn I've fallen off MUs... I'm practicing getting up to handstand from the 'crane' pose or whatever it is, it's working out better than kicking up for sure. I think one of my problems is lacking core strength or being able to 'activate' my lower abs to keep my legs from going past my hips. I've also found that hopping into a straddle handstand helps me hold it a little, but once I try to move my legs together I lose it. The handstand is by far the most challenging physical accomplishment I've faced and I will be eternally happy when I am able to hold it better and feel more confident with it, it requires tons of training and practice in my experience. Taking a few days off is not recommended!
That planche @ 0:15 is ridiculous.
I tried the pistol burpees. Where do I send the doctor's bill for reimbursement?
Strong stuff Al, as always.
People too weak to follow their own dreams will always try to discourage others.
Awesome video as always Al. On the slow muscle ups it looks like you are using a false grip (I think that's the right term). Do you use the same grip for 'faster' muscle ups?
Also, do you have a bar calisthenics book coming out soon?
Thanks! Let me know if you ever want to book a session!
Thanks! Handstands and M-ups definitely take lots of practice!
Thanks! It's actually an elbow lever though, not a planche, so it's not quite as impressive.
Haha - thanks!
Yes I am using a false grip, which is a bit different than the way I grip for normal m-ups. I go into detail about different grips and other subtleties in my new book, which will be out soon.
Yes! It will be out this spring.
