I'm confused as to the idea of skipping veggies that require cooking, but eating chicken and eggs - which require cooking - is ideal. Couldn't "Grok" have cooked beans and potatoes, or is there another issue?

Also, are green beans and peas out? Are green beans considered the same type of bean as pinto or black beans? We used to eat peas right out of the pod when I was a kid, but I keep reading that they're out.

    Thanks

I think the cooking thing is that yes, we had fire - so could chuck on a hunk of meat. But we didn't have pots to boil and process grains and legumes....

As for spuds, sure we can stick them on the bonfire now. But they contain vaious chemical nasties. How else would they sit underground all year and NOT rot or get eaten?

    That's my basic understanding anyway!

Green beans and peas are under discussion in the forum

Thanks for the reply. The potato issue makes sense, as does boiling beans.

I had a feeling my green bean/peas question was already covered. I couldn't find a search function for the forum though.
