    Week 7, Day 4

    Leptin Resistance goals:
    - Breakfast w/ 50gm of protein yes, 65
    - Breakfast w/i 30m of rising yes
    - 5+ hrs between Breakfast and Lunch yes, no lunch
    - 5+ hrs between Lunch and Dinner yes, no lunch
    - no snacking yes
    - exposure to morning sun a bit
    - darkening the house at sunset yes
    - 100% primal diet yes
    - <50g carb per day right about 50
    - no PUFA's other than fCLO yes
    - teaspoon of coconut oil if I start fading extra 1.5 TB at bkfst

    Mg (700mg) - I have such a hard time remembering this. I don't like the taste.
    D (5000IU) -8000IU
    HCl - will try 1, one more time, later this week
    Digestive Enzymes - 2 with bkfst, 2 with dinner
    OOO (4 drops) -
    ACV (1T) -
    Also: organ pills, broth, ferments:
    Dairy-free? no

    B - 4 eggs, 5.5oz sausage, 2.5T coconut oil,

    D - leg of lamb, <1/6 of a potato, <1/2C quality ice cream

    several cups of peach/mint black tea

    Results
    - energy meh
    - bloating = meh
    - skin smoother, but not as good as it was
    - 9hrs. VERY, very sleepy, feel like I need a nap at 10:30am. Got worse and worse till about 4, then started improving gradually till I felt energy around 7 or 8.

    I am CRAZY sleepy. I had a bunch of (aged and/or fermented) dairy last night. This has happened once before that I noticed. Could the two be connected?

    I just did some googling and couldn't find any connection between lactose intolerance & extreme drowsiness (far disproportionate to the amount of sleep I've had, which should have been plenty).

    Can lactose intolerance leave you with extreme sleepiness & strong stomach pains 18hrs later, but with no signs at all before that?


    I ended up having about 3/4 serving of ice cream (quality) tonight. TJ's. I was surprised that I felt like I would have enjoyed drinking straight cream better. Yay! And straight cream wouldn't have left me with a spinning head the way the (less than half a cup) of ice cream did. (You'd think I'd learn by now.)

    Can I summon up the courage to go dairy-free & 100% no exceptions wheat-free for a year or so to get GAPS to heal my gut so I can tolerate dairy again (if that's what's going on here)? I pray so. I cannot imagine life forever without any dairy. I love my homemade long-fermented yogurt cream and the homemade creme fraiche from raw Jersey milk sooooo much... I don't even care about cheese anymore, just want those ...


    I gotta batten down the hatches. Too many small indiscretions - very small, but I must ALWAYS be cautious. That I've made it through December without yet having a full serving of something sweet is a GREAT sign, though, an unprecedented one, and I'll take it. (Along with the fact that there's still a big bag of Halloween candy in the pantry that I haven't touch, and can't imagine touching.) I just gotta keep to being 100% wheat-, sugar-, and dairy-free with the exception of maybe half a serving of something without wheat on Christmas Day (if there's anything tasty without refined oils; there isn't usually), and maybe again on New Year's, then I'm clear free through the holidays. I'll probably need to take two weeks off my progress-o-meter then, and start watching for LS signs again.

    B - 4 eggs, 5.5oz sausage, 2.5T coconut oil, 1oz raw goat liver, 4 cloves raw garlic in 1oz OJ

    D - steak, peach/mint black ... then my head started spinning and hurting and did.not.stop for an hour at least. Started again after I had more. WHAT?! I have this tea a lot, had it yesterday w/o this effect! broccoli w/ butter, mushrooms, tiny bit of apples in butter & sausage grease

    several cups of peach/mint black tea.

    Results
    - energy 6/10
    - bloating = 3mo this morning, 4+mo this evening. Why down a bit in the AM? No idea. Not that huge tonight, but pressing outward uncomfortably.
    - skin smoother, but not as good as it was
    - 9hrs. Was very muddle-minded when BabyGrok woke panting & crying at 3am. Took a bit to get back to sleep. Sleepy this morning.
    - do I have a latent sinus infection? pink nose & bad voice for three weeks, cleared when I sniffed cayenne, tender if I press just above my nose. no hx of them, though. Took garlic.

    Maybe can see outline better here ... I'm not too into posing!

    Lots of clothes I haven't worn in YEARS. Like, since Feb 2004.

    I *feel* fantastic, whenever I'm not bloated & fatigued, lol. 20% of the time. Gah!


    "Fast food" these days ... pre-cooked frozen brisket from US Wellness Meats, TJ's frozen green beans that take only 2m to boil and a quick saute in fat & salt & pepper, home-fermented sauerkraut, and voila! Took like 10 minutes to put together. (And DaddyGrok's red red wine.)

    D - taco meat, spoon of salsa, corn chips, plantain chips (palm oil) (not much of either). Equivalent of about 3-4 cookies' worth of dough (toll house recipe, but with sucanat & gluten-free flours (including xantham gum, which has got to be processed) instead of sugar and wheat flour.

    Results
    - energy 6/10
    - bloating = 4mo morning,
    - skin rougher as of last night. runs this morning, why? butter? never happened before when I stopped having dairy and then went back...
    - ~8hrs. Very tired.

    Wearing button-fly jeans I probably bought in 1997. They have a great flare and great color; too bad they have holes in the knees, lol.

    - 8hrs sleep, VERY sleepy. Need a nap. Didn't get one.

    Bought a small really cute tunic sweater online ... it fits perfectly. So I'm back in the clothes sizes I wore when I was 23, but still a bit fluffier on the back & face, and much fluffier in the gut, so that's where the weight sits. A little more just above the knees, too.

    I had swelling on the calf (1/2") the other night, and thighs & arms, too. Arms & calf back to normal, not sure about thighs. So random.
