    Results
-felt a little great in the gut and a little bloated this morning. Not sure how both at the same time.
-BBT 97.5 after 4-5m lying in bed. ??
-DEAD TIRED from 10am on. Felt very overwhelmed at the idea of continuing to live my (usually fun &) busy life while this tired. Finally was able to take a 2+hr heavy nap at 4pm. Actually felt refreshed afterward, w/ energy, for the first time in a while.
    - livermush, corn chips, nightshades, and dairy didn't add to bloating today. Hmm.

Sorry to hear about your sugar binge, but glad to see you're back on the wagon strong! =)

Hope you don't mind me popping in and out to see what kind of stuff you do. I'm also 5'4" and at 150, and had a brief (thank God!) history of mild exercise bulimia, so I'd like to take a look at how you cope with being out of the gym for so long.

On an ending note, I think you're really cool =) Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the kind note. =) I did used to be a major exercise fiend, but about 5 years ago, gradually stopped being able to get myself to do it. It was a very long, gradual, wearing down, b/c I still wanted to do it, and still enjoyed it, but just couldn't get up the energy to do it. This gradually extended all over my life till most of the time I found myself just wanting to sit, sit, sit.

At the same time (actually started a good bit before this - I was actually still bouncing around high intensity for an hour at a time every day for a good while even after I had gained 10, 20, 30lb), I was gaining weight. It wasn't until last year, when windows of energy started to peek back in, that I realized what was going on. . What I had thought was me getting lazyz (even though I never stopped really, really wanting to do the exercise) must be what others call chronic fatigue syndrome. After all, it felt exactly like a dialed-down version of what I felt during the 1st & 3rd trimesters of pregnancy (when I desperately wanted to do my regular life activities, but was confined to a couch with extreme fatigue) - and no one calls me lazy then.

What's more, when I had the 1/2 or full or 2-3 day windows into the energy that came more frequently as I stayed on a traditional foods diet for longer and longer periods of time, I realized I felt *exactly* like I used to - full of energy, bouncing around, not able to sit still. Then after a while, the energy zapped out again.

Unfortunately, during this LR thing, instead of seeing changes from a normal low level to occasional normal levels of energy, I'm seeing them go from a normal low level to a zombie level. I'm sure it's b/c of hormonal changes, and have trust that after I manage to stick this out for the prescribed time and get some positive changes going to match the bloodwork results, that some day those windows into the old, energetic me will turn into normal again..

That's my veyr long-winded way of saying I'm no longer exercising like crazy, and in fact, I have hardly done a thing in five years - but I've finally let go of my misconception that it was b/c I'm lazy and quit it with calling myself names. I can't wait for the day I succeed at helping my body realize I do, in fact, have copious stores of energy hanging onto me, and it starts digging into those for the energy I've so long waited for!!

Thanks for the quick rundown of your history. I hope this doesn't sound too creepy, but I'm going to follow your thread for a bit and watch your LR progress. I am thinking about doing it, but I am not even fully Primal yet, so I think I have to work on that first. But I think what will work for you will work for me since our exercise abuse, hormonal stuff, and high energy in the past are all similar.

I heated my milk and stirred in the yogurt to start it going yesterday, then forgot it. This morning, the yogurt was already well on its way to being done just sitting on the counter at 75 degrees. I went ahead and put it in the dehydrator at 95 and ACK! it seized and separated into ricotta & whey. Dang it!

Is there any use for cheese whey? It's not really fermented, not really tart, can't use it for the things I'd normally use fermented whey for!

I made something that tastes a lot like TJ's honey chevre withthe yogurt cheese. Pretty good!

Yesterday was a family reunion. I ate a huge breakfast, then wasn't hungry when everyone else was eating, which was great. First time I've EVER gone to a social occasion and just didn't eat. Didn't care. A few hours later, I figured I should eat (since we were going straight to another party and I never do well resisting sweets if I skip a meal), but something odd happened as soon as I allowed myself the idea of eating. Before that, I had no desire for any food, definitely no sweets, but suddenly, it's like someone took over my brain with a remote control and I couldn't think of anything but just one serving of sweet. First, I loaded up with eggs, meat, coconut oil, but it still was there.

And it stopped with that - just one serving. but bye-bye ketosis, hello bloating, cravings, irritability, mouth-breathing at night, lethargy ... By the end of the second party, I had had maybe 3 servings of sweet foods all day - nothing resembling a binge - but felt horrible.

And back to day 1. :headwall:

I'm going to try to shift my thinking to "this was the best fall I've ever had - no binge, no night-long sweating, etc....." but I just keep being so mad I can't just quit failing forever, right now.

For my notes - I had hiccups, a cheek mucosa bubble, and a slightly sore throat by the end of the day. Crazy stuff.
