Felt like death last night. Fever, joint pain, headache, uh excessively enthusiastic elimination. Napped instead of eating dinner, then finally had dinner. DS & DH both threw up - DH has never done that ever in the 17 years I've known him. Weird. Just from eliminating all foods that could be difficult to digest, so that our guts can rest and the pathogens can starve and get out of Dodge. Boy did they get out!!! With vigor, lol!

    Feeling much better today.

    And 162.5, yippee!!

5 & 7. Get lots of sleep & some sunlight (Goal: 15m peak sun).
at least 9 hrs, plus two naps yesterday!
    no sun

Glad you are feeling better! Sounds like GAPS is really moving stuff around for you eh?!

Was wondering, have you thought about supping D (or are you already)? I think its really biologically appropriate to do so (we would have been out and scantily clad in the sun for lots of our evolution, ykwim?...) Just didn't see you mention it, so wanted to mention it!

I too am glad you're feeling better! I agree with FairyRae about the Vitamin D. I have to say, I think it has improved my moods!

Yep, I started a few weeks ago. Haven't noticed any change yet, but I do agree totally with the idea that we are made to be outside all day, and I haven't at all been successful at emulating that yet!

I don't necessarily think we have to make up for lack of sun in winter, though - I think our biology would expect to have less sun in the winter, no matter which latitude we're at. That's why D is a fat-soluble vitamin, I would think. Bulk up in the summer and feed off your stores all winter.

There's so much we have to learn!!

DD is still on the couch today. No elimination for her, just dramatic physical tiredness.

Well, DaddyGrok is in bed already. Hasn't eaten since he had soft-cooked eggs for breakfast, has horrible leg pain, and his fever is the exact same temp mine was last night. My oldest daughter at one point cried out that her ears felt like they were on fire. She ran to throw up, but didn't, then took a baking soda bath and felt better. IDK if the b.s. does anything, but it alleviated my back pain, her ear pain, and dh's leg & stomach pain when we each took one. Maybe coincidence.

But I feel GREAT!!!!!! I've had wonderful physical & especially mental energy this afternoon and evening. I remember when I used to feel this way all the time. I'm hoping ...

DH was still thinking I'd poisoned him from dinner last night, when he called a co-worker to say he couldn't meet for lunch and as it turns out, she has celiac and said that the first week she quit eating gluten was the worst she's ever felt in her life, but since then, it's like she has an entirely new life, it's so much better than before she quit the gluten. So he started leaning away from the "she poisoned me!" idea, lol.

    1. Eat lots of animals & plants. (No insects for me, thankyouverymuch!)
Breakfast - soft-boiled egg, cup of chicken broth, Italian sausage simmered in broth, fermented pickle juice

Lunch - stewed rabbit, half broth-simmered carrot

Dinner - dang it, the recipe I used for lamb left it totally uncooked at the end of 4hrs in the pot, so we had pastured hot dogs, no-sweetener ketchup, mustard, boiled veggies (bleh) in ghee (yum!), & a cup of beef broth. And a bunch of pickle juice.

    2. Move around a lot at a slow pace.
    no

    3. Lift heavy things.
Regularly lifting 17lb infant and occasionally lifting 36lb 3yo during day.

    4. Run really fast once in a while.
    Goal: 1x/wk

5 & 7. Get lots of sleep & some sunlight (Goal: 15m peak sun).
Well over 9hrs. What is up with THAT?!

    6 & 10. Play & think.
no play, but I did learn about black holes!

    8 & 9. Avoid trauma & poisonous things.
yes - except the dumb dextrose I found out too late was in the hot dogs. Grr.

DH & DD feel way better today. I felt weak-muscled all morning, like I had very low BP (it's usually 90/60 anyway) and sleepy for a while, but overall fine. BabyGrok sounds like she has a cold, but has no runny nose.

Bloated belly tonight. WHAT??!!?! Okay, some have said die-off can do that. Weird...

160.5 WHOA. Only about 2lbs from fitting very comfortably into a favorite pair of Bass sage-colored capris. Of course, today I'm wearing clothes I picked up in the Juniors section a few years ago, so they're size 15. Mystery bloating mostly gone.

    1. Eat lots of animals & plants. (No insects for me, thankyouverymuch!)
Breakfast - 3 eggs w/ mushrooms in a boatload of ghee. Mmm. Just mmm. My body so needed that.

Lunch - kids made some nut butter butter nut pancakes (almond butter, butternut squash pureed, eggs, cinnamon) - delicious!! They declared it "better than bread" and that they never want to have regular bread again, lol. Color me shocked. Also, a bite of egg salad. I think I need to go heat up some stew for more protein.

    Dinner - lamb w/ veggies & broth

    2. Move around a lot at a slow pace.

8 interrupte hrs. sleepy all day; I took two naps and can't wait to go to bed.

    6 & 10. Play & think.
    no

    8 & 9. Avoid trauma & poisonous things.
    yes

I have never in my life lost 3 pounds in a week (let alone 6 in two!) except for the two times before I tried to give up grains, and that was in the first week only. Here I am 7 months in and holy moly. It's definitely not the typical "start of a low carb rapid water weight loss" thing this time.
