good day at the gym this morning!

did a 5x5 of barbell deadlifts this morning. started around 205 and did my last set of five reps at 295.

i'm looking to get to a one-rep max of 400 pounds for a challenge in may.

we do primarily kettlebells at my gym, so previously i had only been deadlifting around 212 at my heaviest (2x48kg.. the heaviest bells in the gym) so i'm pumped.

    woo.

    Tom,
Good lifting.....good luck for your challenge. At what bodyweight are you doing those numbers at?

Nice. I'm also looking to break into the 400+ range. I hit 345 a few weeks ago but missed 365 today. AH! The frustration!

Seriously, no lift is as awesome as a deadlift. It's just you and the weight (the really, really big weight).... It's primal.

Nicely done. Did you stop after each rep, or was it touch and go?

i always reset briefly after each rep. i don't try to bang deadlifts out too quickly since i want to keep my form together.
