Started "Primal" approximately two weeks ago---lost 13 lbs already!!!

I'm simply amazed by how simple it is to follow this plan. I still struggle with knowing exactly what to eat/not eat. Have focused on meats for the most part. Lots of eggs. Have also tried to eat broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots (with a bit of full fat ranch dressing.) Have also snacked on plenty of macadamias, pistachios, almonds, and sunflower seeds. Have had a very small amount of fruit (blueberries and strawberries.) Also have enjoyed eating copious amounts of fresh coconut.

Always happy to hear some pointers from the "pros" and other folks getting start with this lifestyle.

TRULY blessed to have found out about this book and this blog!!!

if you are trying to focus on weight loss ...

drop the nuts and dairy from your diet ... stick with the berries ...

focus on a large high protien breakfast right away when you wake up ... and try not to eat after 5-6pm ... try eating 1-3 times a day and dont bother eating unless you are actually hungry .. dnot worry about fat content for now, but 60-70% of calories from fat seems ideal ... only drink water (avoid juices and all liquors) ...

you can do it! and it ONLY gets better!

Nuts have been great since they are so easy to transport. I travel 3/4 nights per week for my job and finding meals isn't easy. The nuts have been a nice way to get in some fat and calories. Certainly open to other suggestions. Want to lose about 40 more pounds.

jerky, pemican, berries, salads, bacon!, veggies like carrots or broccoli raw, etc..

the argument is teh nuts have a different fat in them, and it burns differently ... plus its shown to slow weight loss in lots of people, if not most

I have a confession to make...

After staring at a big plate of homemade brownies this evening after my 3 egg and bacon dinner (with some raw broccoli, cauliflower, and red bell pepper).... I couldn't help myself.

I know....I gave in to weakness. I couldn't help myself.

I ate 1/2 an orange!!! What should my punishment be???

Wait, so you ate the brownies, or you just at the orange, or both??

Personally, I find giving in like that to be healthy every now and then - it just reaffirms my commitment to eating more healthfully. I "punish" myself by finding a way to enjoy my food the next day even more than I enjoyed that brownie (or in my case, usually a bagel) the day before: how much more awesome is steak in comparison?

Congrats on getting as far as you have, and here's to kicking ass the rest of the way.

I opted for the orange! Felt better on my conscience and alleviated the craving for the brownie.
