"I'm starting to look like I've got parachute pants though" (ecks)

Well, parachute pants can be quite the style. I know what you mean though. I'd think, before primal, well, I've dieted a million times and gotten rid of stuff, and then I have to get it again when the diet fails. But, somehow, I can't see this one failing, and I've gone longer on this diet than any other one. Not always feeling hungy is so relaxing. I really did not like always feeling like I was starving. Now, even if I'm a few hours late on a meal because I'm out and about, it's a relaxed "I'm hungry" -- not the "Oh, my G-d, I'm starving and cranky and if I don't eat now" syndrome. I just know you are going to make it too.

How is this sort of odd thing you're doing going? :-):-):-) The leptin reset, etc. I can't imagine tons of food in the morning anymore! Since primal I have gotten more and more into the three Brazil nuts breakfast with rooibos or honeybush. Yep. I really have faith you are going to make it. I mean 35 pounds in two months. That is huge. I keep thinking "under 290 for ecks, under 290 for ecks, under 290 for ecks." Yep. You are going to get there.

I think I've been eating a few too many blueberries, so I'm going to cut down. I notice they taste so sweet now that I'm not eating grains. My granddaughter has been going pretty primal the week she's been here and has lost 12 pounds. She was thin to start with, so I think it must have been water weight and that skinny fat they talk about. She looks even better. Just really tight and fit.

Now she's writing copious emails to her boyfriend and my oldest daughter, her mom, about primal and the horrid effects of grain. It's great fun. I'm also writing my oldest daughter back and forth. She's a runner (I had her going five miles a day when she was five -- I was a runner too) and does Insanity, so I'm trying to hint about Mark's take on exercise and no grains. She's stopping Dave's Killer bread. I told her each slice had 5 grams of sugar = 1 teaspoon! She is finishing the loaf though.

You are going to make it. New short-term mantra: "Under 290 for ecks!"

evening lopisheep! BIL is computer speak for Brother In Law...MIL is Mother In Law...SIL is Sister In Law...ect...not really a Texas thing.

Congrats on the grandaughter's taking up the primal lifestyle & losing some weight. All good info that she can incorporate into her life now while she's young. Oh if we'd have only had this information when we were younger!! I'd never have gotten fat & out of shape in the first place!!

I will check out Baron Farms website. If their shipping isn't to bad might be something to think about.

    have a great evening!!!

You are too sweet you know that?? Leptin reset has been an interesting week. The tbsp of coconut oil at every meal has gotten better. I have to melt it down though and suck it back with a tall glass of water still... Tried taking it as a solid the first day and I was gagging. I took it in coffee today (which was surprisingly good.) I'm sure you've seen CS post about "bulletproof" coffee on my journal... I finally gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. As far as the big breakfast it's been getting smaller and smaller. I wish I could keep up the 50g's of protein but It just feels too unrealistic. I still have cut out all of the snacking (and by snacking I mean the meal between my early lunch and my late dinner) and even though I sometimes feel hungry in the evening I don't feel the need to fill it. Like you it isn't that nagging "I need it now" feeling which is nice. Makes me feel in control.

Weigh in is tomorrow. Scares me a lil because I don't know if this leptin thing is working (or how long it's supposed to take to kick in). I'm getting body measured tomorrow as well... Makin my sis do it with me. She just started a CW diet... 6 meals a day, low fat... etc... about a month or so ago. She's lost 9lbs and I'm proud of her for it but I'm afraid that she's going to shoot right back up when she's "Done". The problem with CW diets is that people believe that you are "done" at a certain point.

I don't think I'm going to hit my 290 goal but I'm ok with it. It's not a race. I think I'll set a goal of 283 for march 4th though (first sunday of march) and see where that takes me. One step at a time so I don't trip and fall

Hey! The leptin reset got the fires burning again! 3lbs off this week. (better than the damn near plateau I experienced for a lot of january). Part of the leptin reset is 3 solid meals a day and no eating 3 hours before bed. No snacks. It's been quite good. I've had a few late nights this week and I've been able to just skip dinner and not feel like I had to eat (in order to get to bed on time). I could have eaten at 9:30 but that means I'd have to wait til 12:30 to sleep. Sleep wins over food... That never would have passed for me before. I would have eaten before bed before (which was quite common)

I'm finding myself wanting to record more and more habits in case any correlations between things can be found later. I'm telling myself to take a note of them in my phone or on paper, but honestly it would be easier to just keep on logging it away in here.

So you're skipping breakfast? I think the next step for me is cutting down to two meals as well, but I'm worried about what will happen if I drop breakfast. I can't drop dinner though because that's when I eat with everybody else and skipping that would feel outcast-y.

It's funny how we go to places where we used to always get processed food and all of a sudden it doesn't feel like food any more... Foods that I used to crave feel so manufactured now that we don't even think about putting them in our bodies again. I guess we could chalk it up to "knowing better" but I really do think it's a matter of our bodies just not wanting manufactured food any more. I'm proud of you for being able to pass by and not buy anything

I think if your body naturally got "used" to IF's that they would lose their purpose... (hence the "Intermittent" part of IF). Maybe make a goal for once randomly every week. Maybe twice. That's a tool you'll lose though if you condition your body to it.

Congrats on the hanging from the pull up bar. I haven't touched one in a year or so (since being at crossfit) so now I can live vicariously through you!

So it sounds like the new cloths fit well... how do you feel in them? You should edit your "Signature" on each thread to throw in some stats about your progress! I'd love to see where you're at!

Migraine (either lox or hot dogs from yesterday, I imagine). Mild one.

    Broccoli, onions, garlic, bacon
    Strawberries
Cabbage salad and chicken-feta-spinach sausage. I guess I really don't like sausage in any form.
    Blueberries
Broccoli, cabbage, plain full-fat yogurt, three Brazil nuts
    Blueberries
