Pam, your comment "eggs are not my best friend -- it feels like they sort of stick about half way down" is exactly what they do to me. It really hurts for me, feels like a brick is stuck under the top of my ribs. I can tolerate them OK in cooking but a fried/poached/scrambled egg does not do it for me.

It must have been weird to find your trolly 'disappeared'. Perhaps some overzealous employee decided it was abandoned.

That is so weird. Does that mean we are allergic to them or that they're just the wrong kind of protein for us? It seems like if food doesn't just kind of flow down, that it's probably not quite right for us?

Trolly is definitely my new word for shopping cart. What a lovely word! "Shopping cart" uses no imagination at all!

Yes, I've noticed the eggs cooked in a creme brulee, for example, don't bother me at all. I do like creme brulee:-)

How to tell a tourist in Vancouver, Washington? They carry umbrellas. Those of us that live here just go around wet all the time!

I think I need to get an Australian dictionary!

I know Geek has a sensitivity to egg. If someone manages to sneak more than the trigger limit past him and it's not potent enough to set off the violent "out, NOW!" body reaction, he'll get that feeling. The way he describes it is " there's a plug there, my body's not letting it go until it decides which way to send it."

Pam, that trolley should have had an 'e' - darned keyboard! In New Zealand they call them 'trundles' and in the car park they have 'trundle bays'.

Here & here are some links to Aussie words & while there is a Macquarie dictionary online you have to pay for it, unfortunately.

Re the eggs, I have always felt uncomfortable after having them (usually at breakfast) but the doctor told me it was (a) the fat from the bacon; (b) the spread on my toast; (c) I was just overeating. After I gave up gluten I was surprised when it did not go, and worked out by trial and error it was the egg. If I put one in my protein shake it does the same thing.

    Wow, Analog6 and Naiadknight --

So other people have this egg thing too. I thought everyone would think I was nuts. Well, I know I'm nuts, but not about the egg thing, perhaps. Geek described it perfectly.

So, after the breakfast yuck, I just IF'd for lunch. Made an interesting concoction with what was at hand for dinner:
I sauteed ginger, Asian yam, apple and banana (added at the end) in coconut oil with curry, turmeric (added after cooking), Himalayan salt, black pepper, and some sunflower seeds. Then I added some coconut milk. Probably wouldn't have put in the banana except that I needed to use it, but it was fun. I am definitely satisfied. Haven't been lately.

good for you Pam!! You know some folks do better by taking gradual steps...some can do it "cold turkey". I did the cold turkey thing...but my SIL is having to do a little at the time. This lifestyle can be kinda overwhelming sometimes...so much info to muddle thru. Everyone has to find the way that's best for them. Hopefully you can get the meat thing worked out.

    You're doing great!!

Yeah, ultimately the thing that makes you stick to something new is what you get results from. I noticed my energy becoming more stable and my acne going away when I got control of my blood sugar by eliminating dairy and other fruits at first. Now I'm sparingly eating fruit, but I'm going to keep dairy out of the picture for a while. It's taken 12 frickin years to get rid of acne and I'm not giving up the cure! But, I don't know. Maybe you're not as insulin resistant as I am and it doesn't affect you as much.

Apparently, one of my key phrases is Aussie (I say "no worries" a lot.) I also use ding, dead-set, goodie (although I spell it goody), hankie, hassles, iffy, innit, john, pissed off, reckon, say, swag, U-ee (I usu spell it uey), vegies (usu spell it veggies), yack, and zonked. What's funny is that most of those are TX slang as well.

I love words! Oh, boy. I can use "ding" a lot:-)

No wonder I'm on so many Texan and an Australian thread -- cool, primal people -- wide open spaces -- cattle -- pickup trucks -- working dogs -- working horses -- Idiot Dog (how is Idiot Dog, BTW?) -- sheep -- wool -- real chili -- awesome slang --okay, keep the list going:-)

    Breakfast:
Zucchini, onion, garlic, coconut oil, Cajun seasoning, Himalayan salt, soaked pumpkin seed stir fry.

Primalcajun -- You'll have to tell me what a real cajun seasoning is so I can compare with the one I got.
