I wish Werther's Originals were primal... Just a sugar kick and nothing else. And they make my tongue hurt. But what a way to suffer...

Mmm... they have a "library" set. :P

For me though the sweet spot is around 90%. 85 is good too but 90 is where I'm happiest. I think for the time being Lindt 90% will be my staple. G+B has a good 85% bar but I find it harder to find (and still a bit sweet for my taste). I tried some milk chocolate around Christmas and found it way too sweet for my taste buds.

G&B is pretty popular around here, so the 90% Lindt is actually harder to find!

:P We need to trade. I still have some lindt 99% in my fridge but I actually don't find it as satisfying now. Maybe because it's such a thin bar and there's only 1g of sugar for the whole bar. Same "size" as the 90% but half the thickness...

I also did try the Nestle "Sublime" 85% bar recently. I like it but it's shaped funny. they claim that the shape is to help it melt on your pallet but I find that it just pokes the inside of my mouth.

Baker's unsweetened chocolate is pretty much pure chocolate, if you want to go that route. I can't imagine chocolate with no sugar at all though.

Ecks, you would have got along well with my father. Chocolate mint was the only dessert he absolutely couldn't resist. And he thought semi-sweet baking chocolate was a fantastic treat. He didn't have either very often though. He decided as a young man he couldn't have both beer and desserts without turning into a balloon. He ditched desserts.

Isn't beer made from barley? Of course, that could be making you sick too.
