Yay for barefoot running!
A pound a week is great! Maybe it's different with primal eating, but normally, the faster you take it off, the faster it comes back on. Slow and steady wins the race. Well, slow anyway. I actually think it's better to lose it in fits and starts. Another advantage of losing it slowly is that it gives the skin a better chance to shrink. The older you are, the more important that is. Even so, I am probably going to need a tummy tuck to get rid of the extra skin.

@Judg I find a pound a week to be slow and steady for a guy my size. I like it- Considering I have another 100lbs to lose I think 100 weeks is a fair amount of time
Food journal time!
Breakfast- 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 squares of camino 55%
Lunch- Piece of flank steak, 2 cups mixed baby carrots and cherry tomatos
Dinner- Half rack ribs. Massive salad, 2 chunks of summer sausage, 3000mg of salmon oil (finally restocked!), 2 squares lint 90%

Interesting about the jogging. I think I'm going to add that into the mix as well, but make sure I'm not overdoing it. I don't want it to be high intensity. I want it to be a gradual building up of my cardio tolerance, so I'd be doing it in intervals as well. I did that today and felt fine. The lady in this success story I posted about jogs too and that piqued my interest. Maybe more fit people burn fat by jogging quicker and longer because their bodies can more easily handle it. At my level, it probably doesn't take much to burn.

Ecks, you will probably find that you will hit periods when it comes off faster, and those where it comes off slower. That's normal. Mine has been much slower over the last year, but I had other things going on in my life, so I was just very happy that it was coming off at all. In the bad old days I would have been packing it on.
You are doing very well, and you are quite right, in your circumstances, a pound of week is probably a pretty easy pace. And I am rather giddy that I've lost two pounds in two weeks. LOL!

Hey all! sorry I've been bad getting back here in the last couple days! Things have been uuber busy (and slightly stressful at times.)
Not going to do a full on food journal of the last 2 days but know that I stuck to only the best of the best...
Anyways- was supposed to get bloodwork done yesterday. Fasted for the whole day (from the night before)... had one of the most stressful days I've had in a while. Seemed every video conference came with a struggle as far as clients go. Each one of them was difficult as ever. Anyways get to the blood lab at 4:30 (completely empty stomach) and even though they are closed at 5 they weren't taking anyone else. So I zipped accross town (on an empty stomach, empty tank, and exhausted mind from the last day) to the only other blood lab I know in town and oddly enough their hours are 9-5 monday to friday except for yesterday which they were 9-3... of course...
Ended up going home- putting together a huge primal meal and went to town. Small steak, 1.5 racks of ribs, BAS and a stuff clam (clam that's been removed from the shell, minced, mixed with minced salmon and shrimp; some butter; garlic; and just a pinch of coconut flour then put back in the shell and baked)...
Stomach was happy and so was I.Fasting again today. Going to go at lunch though then maybe just grab a grocery store chicken on the way back.

Well, in this crazy world of things that can't be counted on, we can count on you sticking to primal and losing weight. I think that's pretty darn exciting.
Have a super day. You know, I ought to read your journal over and over. You always make meat sound good:-) The issue I'm finding with the vegan diet is that the fermented foods don't work well for me (I had forgotten when planning it -- but it means no pickled, no sauces, no vinegar, etc.) so it cut out the yummy lemon pepper, smoked, etc. tempeh and tofu -- which, although, soy, seemed better than dairy. So, I'm back to the drawing board today and not real pleased about it. The white rice was bearable but a zero food as far as I'm concerned, and I have to fill up on something. As good as vegetables are, they just don't fill one up!
You and oldfatguy do so well on meats. I think the rest of us just overthink the whole thing and get in a mess.
Interesting quandry!
ecks always makes everything sound so good!!! lol sorry about the stress ecks...but it sounds like you handled it extremely well!!
Pam...you'll get it, eventually. We have all the time in the world to figure it out!!![]()

That thing with the blood tests is what always happens to me with banks. If I go in late afternoon, it's always the day that branch closes at 3. And I almost never think to check ahead of time.
And I wanted to grab a grocery store chicken - which I never do - last week so DS could have something hot and quick before heading off for the afternoon shift, and that's when I discovered that they don't make them in the morning. Perfectly understandable, but I'd never given it two seconds' thought before.
You are very brave to be fasting on a busy schedule.![]()
