    Whole30 Day17

Breakfast- 2 Eggs (total of 3 yolks) scrambled and eaten in 2 lettuce wraps with some avocado dip, 3 slices of bacon, Decent helping of steak

Lunch- Steak, and a cup of mixed cucumbers and tomato

Supper (out for dinner)- Pho Soup (beef broth with beef strips, beef tendons, and some bean sprouts)

Supplements- 2000mg of salmon oil (I dropped it down from 3000 because I don't feel like I need 3000 anymore), and 6000ui of Vit D.

Exercise- (The most exciting part of my day really!) 255lbs one rep max of dead lifts (and all of the dead lifts it took to warm myself back up to 255), 50 abmat sit ups.

So it's been ?2 and a half? or so years since I've even touched an Olympic bar. The last time I did dead lifts I PR'd at 260. I'm so happy to have hit 255! I tried 260 and couldn't do it but damn am I close! What makes it better is that I was heavier than the bar the last time I did dead lifts so I'm even more happy to be lighter than the bar I was picking up!

Sidebar- It's -14 degrees Celsius outside today (7 degrees Fahrenheit for the american's that read my journal). Bloody freakin cold but I love it!

That stuffed chicken thigh looks heavenly!! How do you make it?

It sure sounds as though you are doing well - and well done on the deadlift!! That is exciting - almost to your PR already! Shouldn't take you long at all to pass that by and leave it in the dust! You are making me think about getting some exercise going again. I have been doing more walking but we all know there is more to being in good shape than a couple strolls...

@Sioban I've gotta bring the porn... it's the only thing bringing you ladies back here

@Coll- Sweat yellow onion and garlic in bacon fat. Toss in ground pork that has been marinated in tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, paprika, crushed chilies and salt and saute til cooked. Flip chicken thigh up side down and carefully remove the bone... I like to cut some slits in the chicken thigh parallel to where the bone was along the entire thigh... helps it roll. Put the cooked pork mixture onto one edge of the thigh and fold/roll it over. Wrap the thigh in bacon and bake at 350ish for 40mins ish.

@Sabine It's for the look. I thought it added a nice touch too!

Whole30 Day20 (That makes today day 21! Single digit countdown!)

Breakfast- 2 eggs, scrambled, topped with avocado dressing and wrapped in 2 romane lettuce leaves. 3 slices of bacon, and a decent chunk of steak

Lunch- Leftover steak, 1C mixed baby carrots and cherry tomatos, and 3 small apples

Supper (out with family at arabesque)- BBQ chicken (marinated in lemon juice, pepper and olive oil according to the menu), and a salad with olive oil and lemon dressing.

    Supplements- The usuals

    Exercise- Nope

So I'll be headed for ottawa this weekend to see my buddy in his new house. It'll be a lot of fun! He's scheduled a CrossFit workout for our group at their local CF Box. It'll be my first time in a full sized CF gym that isn't CFK so it'll be a lot of fun! Hope my chest heals by then... It's still torn up from my workouts this week.

I'd love to try CF. The nearest one is over an hour away. And I can't believe I'm saying that. I used to think those people were crazy. Now I am one.

Broke my Whole30 this weekend to toast my buddies (surprise) wedding. No regrets at all! So although I'm not restarting this is what I achieved from my whole30: Discipline- I've learned to really be critical and aware of what I eat even further. Self Control- I've put a stop to food without breaks and am in full control of how much I eat. Good Sleep- I've finally taken control of my adrenals. A coffee at 7PM will now give me a rough night for sleep so I do make myself conscious about the time of day when I reach for a coffee. All in all I'm grateful for all that I have learned during my Whole22 (That being 22 days of eating whole). No regrets breaking early and more than happy to look forward to the next stages of my paleo journey!

Had an AMAZING weekend! Went up to Ottawa to visit my buddy. Got to his place before he got home so I hung out with friends that I had driven up with. Buddy gets home, holds up his finger with a new wedding ring on it and introduces his girlfriend as his wife- crazy son of a bitch got eloped! In true fashion of exactly how he would I don't think anyone was surprised but definitely caught off guard. So this weekend was his wedding celebration- good food, good drinks and a lot of time with people made the drive up worth it! Oh! The drive up! apparently if I had left 30 minutes I would have been part of an 80 car pileup on the 401. Crazy! It did add 2 and a half hours to the drive though trying to squish the 401s traffic onto the 115. Oh well... no one dead apparently. 5 to hospital 2 in critical condition.

The drink I broke my Whole30 on? Innis & Gunn Oak aged beer with a spiced rum finish. Absolutely amazing! And you know a beer is special when it comes individually boxed. Delicious! And no regrets.
