    A friend of mine suggested a Book (well a pair of books) to me. "Wild at Heart" and "Captivating". I'm reading wild at heart right now (just showed up in my mailbox yesterday!) and I can truely say I'm loving it already! It's a set of books talking about God's nature for who we are. Wild at Heart is for the guys and Captivating is for the gals. I've gotta say though that wild at heart is definitely connecting to the primal in me. I woke up early to read some this morning and I feel great!

    It's by John Eldridge. Great book, it's about authentic masculinity, not macho crap.

    It's been fantastic so far! I've been charged to read captivating as well... I bought the book but have been recently warned by a buddy that it's a "scary" book to open and that if I'm going to even think of reading it I need to prepare myself. When he says scary he means it in a "TMI" sense I think.

    {Rant} Know what 2 words drive me crazy more than anything? "Life's short". Gosh how those two words can frustrate me! Was talking to someone today about health and recognizing signs the body gives us when we are doing something adverse to our health and those were the two words she shot back at me! I simply have no respect for people like that. My response to that was "It doesn't have to be shorter" then the conversation ended. Still- it's that new age arrogance that has made humans as ill as they are today. {/Rant}

    Actually I've always found that saying to be kind of strange. After all, it's the longest thing we do.

    Exactly. Too short to spend it sick and obese. My father set himself up a beautiful retirement and was sick for the entire short time it lasted before he died. And his lifestyle was almost entirely to blame. He came in well under average life expectancy, and was anything but vigorous and dynamic, as his world started closing in on him way too soon.

    Life is way too short to dedicate it to the slavemasters of sugar and carbs, who blind us by short-term pleasure to all the insidious damage they're doing. And there is so much other good food out there to eat, why should our lives be in hock to them?

    And that's how you answer those people. You never know, sometimes the seed of our words lodges in someone's mind and sprouts at the strangest times. I rarely seek to persuade people of any truth that's important to me; I just try to plant those seeds in their heads.
