Sorry gang, I know this must be a faq, but I'm not seeing a search button.

I see a few options on Amazon for being able to buy coconut milk by the case. I was just wondering if anyone here knew if that was the best option, or if there are other sources that would be better. (no, I'm not interested in making it myself. )

    Thanks!

Do you have a "Cash & Carry" where you live? They sell coconut milk in bulk, in very large cans.

Check out your local food co-op - sometimes they give members bulk discounts!

(I do not mean Costco or Sam's Club - those are buying clubs. Most large cities and some small have food co-ops that are membership-owned and run.)

If you have an Asian market locally, try that too. Coconut milk is a fundamental ingredient in Thai cuisine, among others, and those markets sometimes have cases available for a lot less than your supermarket would charge.

Most grocery stores now have CM in the Asian foods (or international?) section.

Mail order CM would be pretty expensive. You are shipping mostly water and oil.

Thanks everyone! I've checked around the local sources and it seems to run about a dollar a 14oz can everywhere.

I did find the coconut article Mark wrote sometime back and think I'll give one of the mail order sources of coconut powder a try. I'm only using it in protein smoothies so far, so hopefully that will work ok.

    Thanks again!

Whoa - $1/can is pretty damn good.

That's $1 for 700 calories of some of the best saturated fat around, period!

Big fan of Native Forest - its BPA free!
