Is doing them at the pool (from the water) kosher - I use the diving thingy handles, which means my hands are shoulder width apart and inwards facing, and aim at getting my chin above the platform? I can do 10 under these conditions.

Well, still on just one single-armed pull-up. Haven't made it to two yet...

please put a star next to my name!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like this is such a huge accomplishment, but honestly, I'm not satisfied with it. I'm seeing cuts and definition now, and that seems to be my driving motivation. This was fun though.

Started at 251 (not sure what I weighed when I accepted this challenge). Weighed in at 227 this morning and did a full pullup in between rounds of SimpleFit this morning.

Love love LOVE this way of life.

    Grok ON!

Sign me up. And then put a star!

    NAILED IT!

Did the first 3 pullups of my life on Monday and they felt great. I'm going back for more at lunch today.

Three chin ups in a row when fresh, but still no pull up yet

Congratulations to all who did a pull-up yet!

I am still struggling, and my progress is soooo slow! I never thought that it would be so hard to build up strength to do a pull-up. But I won't give up, and there are still 9 months left

A pull up bar was the best thing to happen to me. I wasn't able to do a pull up or a chin up, but after reading about isometric movements and negatives I managed to do it within a week. It's great practice!

edit: Oh and not to mention the dumbell rows, those help too!

Whew, list at the front of the thread updated again. So happy to be adding stars -- and it sounds like lots of you are very close to doing a real pull-up, too! So exciting!

I need to step up my game and get this rolling myself. You're all so inspirational!

Analog6, I think it depends on whether part of your body is still in the water. If so, I'd call that a pull-up with very mild assistance. I bet by now you would be able to do one without the water -- if you do, let me know and I'll star you up. :D

I should have more time to update on a regular basis soon. This spring has been extremely distracting with other projects.
