No, I was here earlier... really...
Did better yesterday. Subbed aussies for pull ups (SimpleFit level 1) and at the very end of my work out tried one from a dead hang and moved about an inch. Go me!

Stalker! Haha. I actually saw you joined before I did, so I guess that makes ME the stalker!

We both have similar goals. Do a pullup, and looking smoking hot in a bikini in two months!

Did a couple more negatives at MMA before sparring the other day. I announced my resolution to my fellow martial artists, so one of them looked at me as we were standing around getting our sparring gear out and was like, "Isn't it time for you to do your pullups?"

I think I'm going to move my home pullup bar to the doorway to the master bedroom closet so that I remember to bust a couple out every time I'm in there.

Tore my hands up doing grip strength training at Crossfit this weekend. Apparently that's one of the biggest things holding me back. I can swing on the bar, so maybe I'm halfway to a kipping pullup. But my goal is definitely a dead-hand pullup ultimately!

    Hi Jenny and all,

Please add me to the list!

I got a Perfect Multi-Gym pull up bar last week, and my husband put it together over the weekend. I thought how hard can this be? I grabbed the bar and felt like 1,000 pounds of dead weight was just hanging there. I could not move myself up even a millimeter!!! Meanwhile, my husband watches me and then jumps up himself and effortlessly does two full pull ups, making it look EASY. He jumps off and says he could easily do more -- when questioned he thought 5 or 10 -- but he was in the middle of a project. Mind you, he does not work out at ALL, with the exception of taking a 30 minute walk with me around the neighborhood 2-3 times a week. Not fair!

Wow. So, to combat my total discouragement, I watched some videos (thanks, Jenny) and googled some more. I began working on jumping chin ups.

So far I can jump up (palms facing in - chin up style) and hang and lower myself down. I did about 6 of these yesterday and plan to continue. My husband also told me to go to the gym and do rows, and I'll easily master the pull up. However, the whole point of my getting the bar at home is because I hate going to the gym!

Anyway, I'm VERY weak, but I'm up for the challenge. I figure that I'll eventually be able to do at least one pull up - also will be working to do a few chin ups.

    Good luck all!

I'm in! I can't do any right now, and have never done one in my life. Time to change that!

Bicep curls appear to be helping, as do Australian pull-ups @ 45*, partially leg assisted. I can get to about 20% from a dead hang now. Of course, my husband had to show off last night and did several one armed pull-ups. Hrmph.
