It was a good day and I lost part of that pound I gained at the brunch. However, I was thinking old ways. I really wanted to skip dinner and do a big calorie restriction instead of just moving on with the primal plan and letting it come off naturaly. I did end up with a giant shake for dinner instead of skipping the meal altogether.
I exercised too! P90X2 Core

L - leftover paleo beef stew
D - Shakeology with a handful of fozen strawberries and a handful of frozen blueberries.

It's been about 2 weeks since my last post. Mostly because of a schedule change that threw me for a loop.
I also have only been 30-40% Primal. Birthday cakes and Mexican restaurants have been more the norm.
Not much exercise either.
I've gained 2lbs. Which is almost a win as I haven't been cooking for myself. Since I'm the only primal person in the family, I have food selection challenges. I do my best skipping bread and pasta completely. When I cook my meals, I'm over 80% primal and carbs go below 50 a day.
Interestingly my wife has been on calorie restriction and my sister-in-law started with some cleanse which moved into calorie restriction. Both began around Jan 1 and both have lost weight. Not as much as me though and they are always hungry and when they do eat, are going online to see if they have enough calories left that day so they can enjoy the food they are contemplating.
Primal is much better, I eat my fill of foods I know are good for me. I just need to have it available.
Today I refocus my efforts. I will do well over the weekend and figure out food during the week. I'm also going to start walkiing. I've always been one to do more intense excercise like running or P90X, and will continue to do them because I enjoy it, but with the weather getting better, I will make an effort to get outside and walk.

3.13.12 - Tuesday
Saturday as promised, I did great!
Sunday was an important birthday party I had forgotten about... I did great eating I found plenty of meats and vegetables to fill my plate with. I'm sure it wasn't organic and grass fed, but it did the trick.
I did have a piece of birthday cake, it was kinda large too...
Monday (yesterday) I nailed it.
B - 3 eggs with some bacon
L - salad with a small ribeye
D - shredded chicken with veggies cooked up together.
Some almonds and green tea.

Walked for about 1/2 hr
B - 3 eggs with mushrooms and onion sauteed in buter
L - Bigass salad with 1/4lb ground beef
D - a few porchops in chili sauce
2 chocolate chip cookies and some chocolate. I thought this was going to be a binge, but somehow managed to satisfy myself with a couple cookies and a chocolate bar. I'll take this as a win. Hopefully the cravings taper off.

Another good day!
I didn't really exercise, well I did fix a garage door.
Anyhow, diet was great.
B - rainbow swiss chard omlette with some bacon
L - salad with ribeye.
D -large porkchop
I've been experimenting with different grass fed and organic farmers in the area and have hit and miss quite a lot. The ribeye yesterday had a funny flavor I didn't care for, but the porkchop was delicious!
Funny thing, I also bought a chicken and some beef from the same people that I got the pork from. The beef was good, but the chicken was horrible! And their eggs are just average...
I had hoped to join a CSA, but haven't been able to find a single source for everything. It looks like I'll get eggs from one, beef and pork from another, and I've yet to find a source for chicken...
The good thing is I live in an area with lots of options so I'll just keep experimenting.

The scale has been moving down slowly....
I've been eating right, but not exercising much. I know because I'm feeling a little flat. When I'm eating right and exercising, I have an abundance of energy. It's pity, the weather has been unbelievable! I did some walking this past week, but haven't worked muscles at all.
Today I will workout.

L - Salmon, salad and some ground beef
D - 1/2 a filet, a couple lamb kabobs, some ground beef and a salad.

Did another P90X2 workout today!
B - Skipped
L - burger patty with sauteed onions and mushrooms
D - shredded chicken breast with vegetables (alot!) and some ground beef.
I think I'm struggling with sugar addiction. The cravings hit pretty hard and it seems impossible to deny it. Sometimes, especially during the evening, it manifests as a urge to drink alcohol.
Generally it hits every other day. Yesterday was pretty bad and I ate some candy. Today, I probably won't feel the urge at all.. Very frustrating.

I feel like I'm on a roll. Everyday I can see improvement in the mirror and in the way my clothes hang. I have avoided the scale for the last week because I'm afraid if I see the wrong number I'll become discouraged and do something stupid.
B - BP Coffee
L - Bigass romaine, chard and kale salad with skin on chicken breast. This taste better than I thought it would! I use basalmic, olive oil and fresh salt and pepper for dressing.
D - porkchops simmered in fresh chili sauce. This is a MIL special. I don't know how she keeps all those chili recipes in her head, but each one is delicious!
2 glasses of merlot.
