FYI, I really am adding in more starchy carbs and noticing no subsequent binging temptations - I still feel in control.

sexy lexy!! I love that!! I'm just trying to catch up with everyone! glad to hear all is going good with you. Am going to check out that paleo for women blog. Sounds interesting. One can never have to much information to think about. I found too when I first started SPII that when I added more starchy carbs that I seemed to lose a bit faster. Amazing. Don't know if you have seen it or not but Pebbles has also started following SPII & I think is doing really good with it. She was having binging issues too, bless her heart.

congrats on getting a front page article!! will go read it now!! good to hear from you!!!

Hey, on the bright side regarding me not posting a lot ... I'm easy to keep up with these days no? I'm still hovering at 198, but can't say I've made any significant changes. I think I need to just devote more time to moving at 50-75 percent of my heart rate. Also, more seafood so I get more iodine. A little fatburning exercise here and little more thyroid functionality there ... we'll see where this goes next.

I'm doing a lot better stress wise because I have my own place, but I've still been living paycheck to paycheck and just barely making it - mostly because there are things like late taxes and all the costs of moving and setting up the new place. I think July is my last really hard financial month. Then things are going to finally loosen up and that won't be as much of a burden anymore.

Yeah, I'm beginning to relax on food issues. And by that I don't mean eating cake every day. I just mean that for so long I think I've concentrated on changing diet the KEY to losing weight. It's a part of losing weight. And it's a part I feel like I mostly have down. I don't binge. Junkfood is a rare 1-2x a month thing with friends. I make almost everything I eat outside of that from scratch.

Like I said up there, I'm going to eat more seafood for more omega-3 and iodine, but I'm just not going to sweat over food issues that much anymore because I think I'm pretty damn responsible about it now to be honest.

I'm continuing to be active. I'm getting more sleep consistently. I'm improving the way I think about myself and life so that I'm not freaking out about everything - key part of that is realizing I only have so much control over what happens in my life. I can do my best. That's it.

So I'll just continue doing all that because it's all I can do. I will of course come back to report on any breakthroughs!

Sounds like you've hit a sweet spot, Lex. Getting the hang of healthy, joyful eating is, in my mind, a prerequisite to successful weight loss. Now you just have to cut back now and again, for one day or twenty, whatever you feel like, and the weight will gradually fall off. And stay off. Breakthroughs are not necessary. One step at a time will get you there just fine. And when you're enjoying the journey, one step at a time is fun too.
