    Raiput,
    YES ! !
    Dr. Howenstein:
    Resolution of cysts Iodine therapy resolves nearly every case of breast cysts. This treatment also can heal ovarian cysts and works well on skin cysts when rubbed over the cyst.
    Iodine is found in large quantities in the brain and the ciliary body of the eye. Lack of iodine may be involved in production of Parkinson’s disease and glaucoma.

    Dr. James Howenstine -- Iodine is Vital For Good Health
    EDIT: This just came in from the Internet:
    Re: Cyst.
    You didn't say where your cyst is, but I have a benign simple ovarian cyst that
    has been shrinking since taking Iodoral.
    @Gwynn
    I expect to get Dr. Brownsteins books on iodine & salt by Friday. I suggest your DH skip going to the doctor until we see how he does on 50mg iodoral. I know what the doctor will do. He will just want to prescribe expensive drugs or surgery. Doctors don't want to cure anything, they simply want to keep us sickly and treat symptoms with expensive drugs or unnecesary surgeries.

    @DaveRN
    I have upped my Lugols to two drops (12.5)mg today.... Last night I did not have to get up to pee until almost 5:00AM. That's only happened once before (a couple of weeks ago). As far as improvment so far... I am peeing less during the day. I was going like 10 times a day here at work. I'm down to around 2-3. My bladder area no longer has an irritated full feeling. I also seem to have more intellectual energy. I have a lot of energy anyway. .... but it seems like my brain is turning on. I've suddenly decided to get some Spanish disks and learn Spanish in the car on the way to work. This used to be turn off the brain veg time...

    I have a follow up appt with the urologist in 5 months. At that time I'd love to be off the med and tell him all about how iodine fixed everything. Iunderstand that this will take time. Even the RX drugs takes months to shrink the prostate.
    YAY! You are on your way. Clearing up Brain Fog is one of the things fixed by iodine. The brain requires iodine to function, and the brain cells receptors for iodine have been clogged with toxic chemicals. I have no doubt that you will be OFF of your meds in 5 months. I also have no doubt that your doctor will pooh pooh iodine and want nothing to do with it. He doesn't make ANY MONEY curing people, and he doesn't make any money prescribing iodine instead of expensive drugs. He will likely tell you to go on depression meds because you are crazy. It is ALL ABOUT MONEY and how much they can steal from us!

    @KimInGa,
    Kim,
    For your insomnia, I suggest backing off your iodine and do a "Pulse Dosing" Take it once per week for a few weeks, then 2x a week for a few weeks etc until you are back up to the troublesome dose. I think what is happening is detox, but in your case the detox is affecting your adrenals, by way of the thyroid or via brain. The thyroid & adrenals are closely linked and toxic substances fill the iodine receptors in every cell in the body. Pulse dosing is what Dr. Brownstein recommends for all detox symptoms. There should be NO symptoms from taking iodine. All symptoms are from detiox.

    @kilian,
    IMO, Iodine in water in the AM is fine. I take my iodoral every morning with a glass of water, no problems.

    PS) Dave, I think you and I are going to make the Urologists look STUPID. Bwahahaha !

    Best to all,
    Grizz

    If I'm pulse-dosing, should it be the full 8mg that one day per week? I'm hesitant to go up to 12mg because I know I tend to react more strongly to some stuff than other people (like caffeine and magnesium). Have you heard of anyone suffering from insomnia due to detox?

    Yes, do your pulse dosing at your last level. I have not seen or heard of anyone suffering insomnia due to detox. However, detox does affect the brain see this:
    eye lid twitching
    foot twitching
    tingling in hands or feet
    dark thoughts (e.g., there is no reason to live)
    depression (e.g., there is no reason to get out of bed)
    anxiety
    emotionality

    mouth and tongue sores and cuts or "sore mouth"
    "different" acne,"bromide acne," "acne-like eruptions" without "coniform." (Some iodine
    users found zinc helps bromide acne.)
    skin "cuts"
    hair loss
    brain fog
    leg and hip ache (feels like arthritis)
    rash (bromaderma)
    metallic taste
    sinus ache
    cherry angiomas
    runny nose
    headache
    sedation
    lethargy
    odd swallowing sensation (reported in old medical literature as "swollen glottis")
    body odor (bromos is Greek for stench)
    unusual urine odor
    dry mouth
    ureteral spasm, frequent urination (mistaken for urinary infection)
    diarrhea
    constipation
    vision changes
    irritability
    increased salivation
    dream changes
    hormone changes
    kidney pain
    breast tenderness (transient symptom reported to resolve)
    Iodine-related bromide detox symptoms and strategies

    @killian,
    Another question here: should I skip my Lugol's dose if I plan on eating 1.5lbs of sockeye salmon today?
    More iodine is better. If by chance you get too much, the excess just goes out in your urine, per Dr. Brownstein. So, yes take your normal dose of Lugols.

    This is great info ... esp the fact that if I take too much it will just pass on through. Thank you for sharing!

    LJ,

    Just call me Grizz. I'm learning right along with everyone else. I just share my links with everyone because I think iodine is sooo VITAL to our health.

    WHY HAVEN'T WE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT IODINE FROM TV, MAGAZINES, OR DOCTORS ? ? ?

    I am outraged that something so important to our health is swept under the rug by the FDA ! ! ! !
    I am outraged that the iodine RDA is only 150 mcg ! ! !

    I AM EVEN MORE OUTRAGED THAT IODINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY DOCTORS FOR FEMALE PROBLEMS, CANCERS & PROSTATE PROBLEMS. If ever there was evidence of a conspiracy to keep us sickly, THIS IS IT ! The reason, of course is that there is NO MONEY to be made curing people!

    Here is a quote from the Internet
    Most people taking iodine these days only think that Lugol's Iodine supplementation is good for just the thyroid. But the widespread beneficial effects of iodine supplementation -- in larger dose(well above the RDA) -- is really the only way you can achieve these whole body benefits benefits, some of which are defined here as examples from research:

    * Iodine acts to lower cholesterol and also helps to successfully remove and clear plaque from the heart arteries. Helps to cure arteriosclerosis and heart disease because iodine solublizes and removes fats easily from the body. Iodine also helps you to lose weight by removing fat from the body.

    * Iodine, as well as T3 and T4, tend to accumulate in the lungs. Iodine is anti-carcinogenic and anti-mutagenic. In the old pre-WW2 days iodine was used by medical doctors in much larger doses -- 300 mgs to 2000 mgs amounts (50 to 300 drops a day of lugols) -- to successfully treat chronic forms of bronchitis, asthma and emphysema. Lugol's Iodine is therefore highly protective for the lungs in general.

    * In larger dose, lugol's iodine inhibits the conversion of histidine to histamine. So lugols acts as a natural anti-histamine against allergies as well. Dr Gerson claimed -- in his Gerson Cancer Therapy -- that lugol's idine stopped allergies completely. See this link .

    * For low acidity problems in the stomach, taking oral lugol's iodine will treat the root cause and revive proper acid levels in the stomach for proper digestion.

    * There is an artery that runs through the thyroid/parathyroid which trickles out iodine continuously into the blood. This aids the immune system by weakening the pathogens already in the blood. Iodine kills 90%-95% of all known pathogens.

    * Iodine in the blood also prevents bacteria and viruses from attaching themselves onto host cells for invasion, attack or reproduction.

    * Cyst problems such as uterine fibroids(PCOS) and fibrocystic breast disease are completely resolved and cured, usually over a 3 month period, by taking 50 mgs (8 drops) lugols iodine a day.

    * Taking daily oral Lugol's Iodine can also resolve prostate problems in men.

    * Larger dose lugol's iodine, just on its own, can completely cure systemic candida. Google Search "Orian Truss iodine candida".

    This is not a full or complete list of the benefits from iodine supplementaion and this list does not fully define the added extra benefits of a normalized thyroid from LI iodine use.

    I also stress again that the above benefits can only ever be obtained by larger dose supplementation of lugol's iodine -- in milligraqm not microgram dosages -- and according to the Iodine Project, the daily LI dose should fall between 12.5 mgs and 50 mgs a day. I used Lugol's iodine as part of my own successful anti-candida protocol six years ago and I still take 5% lugol's iodine almost every day in dosages of between 4 drops and 8 drops(25 mgs to 50 mgs) a day for both extra protection and sufficiency.
    That link in red explains why iodine prevents cancer. Iodine is in every cell in the body for the express purpose of killing off cells that have been mutated by virus or cancers. !

    From the Internet

    Iodine & Hair Loss
    =====================
    My hairloss DRAMATICALLY decreased in three weeks of dedicated application. After about 6 weeks, I now have fewer than 15 hairs coming out when I comb my hair (it used to be so much that I dreaded to even look at the amount of hair that used to come out just as recent as 2 months ago.

    Dave,

    Flomax! That's what I was trying to think of. Yes, my husband was on both of those. Didn't work and, yes, bad side effects. You have to wonder, when the order arrives in the mail, why did we get a free sample of Viagra!:P Right now he is taking Saw Palmetto, and wants to get off that. It sounds to me like you are seeing benefits already! That's great! My husband doesn't go too much during the day. It's at night.

    This is exciting. Keep posting the good news.

    Grizz,

    We are not going to the urologist this time. We are going to the new family doctor to see if his thyroid dosage needs to be bumped or if T3 needs to be added. We were wanting to change doctors anyway.

    Maybe I should just have him take four Iodoral in the morning.

    Gwynn,
    I think YES - it is helping my prostate so much and it has the blessings of Dr. Brownstein.

    Then your DH & I can compare notes each week on our Prostate problems. I slept GREAT last night, with only 1 urination in 9 hours of sleep. Last night was as good as it gets, complete with great dreams! I am looking forward to more nights like this ! Please invite him into our thread.
