1 week in, feel and look horrible

Hi all. I'm one week into the PB diet and feeling worse and worse! I am tired all the time, finding it very hard to get out of bed in the mornings even after 8 hours sleep, my skin and hair are dry and I'm breaking out in spots! Not good. I am an avid health and fitness fan, and have tried lots of different approaches before PB, my diet has been low carb for a few years now so I shouldn't be having this much trouble.

I was feeling great on my diet before starting PB, but wasn't loosing enough fat so thought I'd try this out, any ideas what could be going wrong?

    Here is a typical day:

protein shake, 3 eggs cooked in butter with vegetables and nuts

2 tins of tuna, big salad, avocado, olive oil

250g gass fed beef mince, olive oil, vegetables

Also, I work out every other day with weights for 1 hour and I walk for 45 mins each day.

In an attempt to remedy the situation, today I carbed up with 350g sweet potatoes and dropped the fat. Hopefully this is what I need.

    Thanks

What was your diet like before you started? Can you show us a typical day?

Are your vegetables just a side dish? Try bumping those up a bit. For one meal, try making a variety of vegetables the main course and adding some meat on the side, like Mark's Big Ass Salad.

Edit: But when I say "like" I don't mean a salad, I saw you listed a salad. Kale, broccoli, onions, carrots, peppers, etc. I like to stir fry a bunch together for my morning meal.

I didn't feel so good the first week either and I gained a pound to boot! As soon as you adjust to the diet and withdraw from the sugar you'll start to feel better! Trust me

Whats with the protein shake? Isnt the idea of primal to get off the reinef stuff and go to the source? I could never lose fat drinking whey isolate either, it was like fat glue in my body.

Did you add anything to the first week that you don't normally eat? A supplement? Dairy? A new protein powder?

Carb flu. Give PB a good month for your body to adjust. Carb flu happens, it sucks, but it happens.

Eating primal is not a diet, it is a way of life.

If you are really struggling you could keep the rice for a week and just cut out the breads and other grains. Not ideal but it is a way to ease you in.
