I am looking to purchase some venison and elk from a national provider. I inquired if they are corn finished. The representative indicated that they are on pasture until harvest day. He also indicated that they are supplemented for 45-60 days on ( Organic flax, barley, snow peas and alfalfa). The primary purpose of doing it is to assure a higher level of CLA's and balanced the omega 3-6's while producing a consistent flavor & tenderness. I wanted to inquire if this procedure should be of any concern (with regard to quality) and if a “pure pasture” process would be preferable. Thank you.
