Doctor visit very good idea..You may need some GI tests done. DH had them recently, not bad at all, he said.

I bought the greatest book last night:

PRACTICAL PALEO, a customized approach to health and a whole-foods lifestyle
    Diane Sanfilippo, BS, NC

Stayed up half the night reading it but planning on a nap in the sun later.

I just got the same book for my B-day yesterday and I totally agree - great book!

A doc visit might explain why you still have so many problems, but I also am concerned that they will blame all of you issues on your dietary changes as most doctors just don't get the connection between food issues and IBS. Do you have a specialist? It may be worth getting a stool sample tested though to see if there are other issues like candida or yeast over growth. Again though, I know almost nothing about these type of isses as I've never dealt with them. Maybe search the forums here and other IBS sites to see what else you can learn. A knowledgable patient is always more likely to get good results when deeling with doctors.

Judy and Mudflinger: I've heard of the book. I wouldn't mind having it...but I'm kind of low on money (plus I just caved and bought It Starts With Food before I found Practical Paleo.) Good book and it does have some advice that I haven't encountered elsewhere, but probably not as "practical" in the sense of a variety of recipes and there's only a little blib on IBS and Digestive diseases. (Happy Bday Mud Flinger) Sometimes I think I shouldn't buy any books so I can get food.

Ever since I was diagnosed with having IBS, I've become a hypochondriac. It's not a fun feeling, to constantly worry about one thing or another and not knowing if they're linked or something completely different! I need to see a doctor for a general check up, but I'm still afraid because I simply don't trust them. It's already common knowledge that when it comes to IBS they're not so sensitive. And I have seen a GI specialist. He gave me anti-spasmodic medication (Nulev or previously Levsin) and suggested like...fiber powder supplementation or something. I don't think diet ever came up. I don't want to go to a doctor for help and find they don't know anymore than I do...or worse...I know more than they do.

    ---

I'm feeling super agitated and anxious today. I'm getting low on food and I'm not able to go to the store until tomorrow. I hated eating my eggs this morning and I don't have anything precooked/thawed. I don't feel like doing anything...

    M1: 2 eggs
    S: grapes
    S: hot dog
M: 2 chicken legs with 2 cups of kale
    S: pineapple rings

-Yet again I wasn't feeling well. I didn't eat much yet at times I felt hungry. I also seem to be having stronger cravings.

-I hope I can get some more food tomorrow.

-Chewing slowly and chewing this food is killing my jaw. Perhaps it's just not used to tougher food.

-I still don't know if multivitamins actually make a difference and when it comes to supplements I'm drawing a blank as far as how much is appropriate. Tired of health and food taking up all my energy. Sounds kinda dumb when I say it like that but I'd like to focus on other things that I may enjoy without having to constantly feel bad or think about what I am going to eat.

I don't mean to complain so much. I suppose I'm highly frustrated and still just feeling bad all over. I expected to have more energy or some kind of improvement. But to be fair, I'm not eating nearly enough of the things I should. I'm trying to find the formula that works for me (though I hate how it's taking up a lot of my brain space.) I'll try upping breakfast and I am suspecting I need to really cut down on fruits (which is super hard for me.)

"It starts with food" is a great book. I've heard lots of great stuff about it. I plan on buying it too, but haven't seen it while I'm out. Need to get onto Amazon and buy a bunch of books I've been meaning to get.

Found some site, suggesting that one should probably take fruit out of the diet for 6-8 weeks if you might have sugar addiction *dies*. But it also suggested having fruit with fat or protein. Ex. apple and a handful of nuts (I'll try with almond butter but I'm not fond of that stuff.) Does that sound valid? Because I'm kind of sure that I am still overeating fruit, but I'd hate to cut it out. I either need to up the amount of what I eat at meals so that I'm less "susceptible" to wanting to have it or...I need to seriously consider taking it out (which is something I don't want to do.)

M1: 2 hard boiled eggs (pretty digusting)
    S: Pineapple rings
    S: LaraBar
M2: Italian style burger, trimmed with onions, tomato, mustard, celery (probably won't do celery again)
S: maybe grapes, more pineapple or something

I used to LOVE Subway sandwiches so I'm going to look into recreating that in a Paleo/Primal way as much as possible (wish cheese was allowed.)

Pretty obvious I ate next to nothing all day. Well I've got burgers made so I have 3 meals prepared which is good. (I actually like making burgers.) I was able to make them flatter this time so they didn't turn into beef bombs and more like patties. Not a good day in terms of food but I feel slightly better armed compared to last week.

Being prepared is very empowering. It allows you time to think of more interesting things to try

Pretty much. But I'd like to get to a point where food/recipes and the like are not on my mind ALL the time. Mainly I just want to find recipes I can enjoy (and won't be bored with) and eat them. It helps that burgers are easy to put together. I also need a better handle on how to shop.
